The s2 trans has longer gearing when paired with the s1 rear end.

The differences are fairly minimal. You would still be better off to use the 3.9 or 4.1 FD3 rear gear

I had a similar problem on my 3rd clutch replacement. Those metal rings stripped out and the bolts were just rotating. I had to have my wife hold the top of the 21mm wrench in place through the shifter hole in the chassis for the removal and reinstallation. I didn't think about removing it with the transmission

Saying rear gear does that mean to use the whole fd3 rear diff?
Or swapping rear diff internals?

Yeah I don't have a 21MM box end so this was our only option. There are always more tools to buy

Yeah my guess is the the dealer used and impact and no anti sieze because there was a bit rust on the threads and inside the nut.

The turbo is done, blowing oil out of both sides, shaft play, all that.

Oh and in case you were wondering, the S2 trans is only 9.2lbs heavier than the S1 trans.

About 10,000 miles since the rebuild by Turdblown. But, oil pressure may have been the failure mode so I can't really blame Turdblown yet. But I still have my doubts that it was rebuilt or upgraded in any way aside from the billet compressor wheel.

The turbo was re-built by turbown... who just sent it to comp. We are not 100% certain what turblown specked out for the "rebuild".

Just a standard rebuild and balanced assembly, it is already upgraded and has a Billet Comp wheel. My suspicion is that Turdblown had comp install the wheel and that was it, no rebuild, no balance. And Turdblown never did the custom coolant lines even though they had it over two months, but that is a whole other issue so basically I paid $900.00 to have a Comp billet wheel installed. But that is what I get for not going with my gut.

You are assuming the worst and missing the obvious ....

You increased the oil pressure and kept the restrictor the same . 0.65 is already on the large side so with extra pressure ................

I didn't increase the oil pressure, it was upgraded back when I was NA and stayed that way thru the rebuild. .065 it what was/is recommended here. But in re reading that thread, a lot of the info in it is wrong (where you got the incorrect .5 quart /min info from) so that is what I get for listening back then. But I have all the stuff to make a true regulator now so it's time to test. But either way no one has figured out what restricter works and what doesn't with increased oil pressure or otherwise, it's all guessing. But a restricter is not the answer either way.

Let me put it another way ................ you ran more oil pressure than others using that sized restrictor

Not disagreeing with you about the need for something better though - look forward to your findings on that.

Yeah but guys running stock pressure (which is still 20+ psi higher than recommended by the turbo manufacturers) are going thru Greddy's about every 20k or so. But no doubt even higher pressures than stock likely makes it worse.
