Lol!
You guys are a trip! Can't tell when you're joking or just plain being juvenile because you get off on it.
Anyways, motor IS lasting. (14-20psi street driving).
My porting work is what most likely hurt the two side seals, not these "power levels".
Pay attention...again...side seals were hurt "before" I ever got on the dyno...yet even with the two side seals hurt it doesn't seem to severely affect power output or drivability. I still drive the car EVERY DAY...Will I continue to drive it everyday? No.
Going on the dyno again to get official results (print outs) then pulling motor and fixing ports, if that is in fact what the problem is, then motor goes back in.
Mind you, I never expected a long life out of my motors with this setup to begin with(though at least something reasonable "to me", maybe a year's worth of events? dunno yet, but i am prepared for it $$$)...I built a racecar...that's also registered to drive on the street!

The best way to silence "put up or shut up" critics is to keep posting up the results. If you are the first one to accomplish this when others have either talked/bragged it to death and either done nothing or failed trying then then surely you can understand any cynicism prior to actually proving anything. A couple of dyno runs and toodling around the streets on a leaky motor doesn't really meet my barometer for success, but this or other previous comments doesn't mean that I don't want you to succeed. I just want to actually see it, not keep hearing "we're gonna do this or that" is all.

But you just wait and see, when you or anyone else does eventually "see it for themselves", that again won't be enough and a whole new argument or challenge emerges and we repeat the vicious cycle...
So I'm going into it with a "I don't give a f*** what you think attitude" because I genuinely DO NOT GIVE A F*** about satisfying or meeting anyone's expectations but my own...
Btw, you've been relatively neutral as far as I'm concerned, I can clearly tell you're just taking a realistic approach to things and not necessarily just being combative or purely cynical...I get you Team and while I don't always agree with your choice of presentation, I do appreciate and respect your feedback...(sometimes. lol.).

Also, the welded exhaust ports were from a previous motor, not this motor.
Had to trash the side housings...
I'm almost 100% certain though that the damage to the side seals was caused by the issue discussed in a porting thread somewhere, if the intake ports are not cleaned up/radiused the side seal can catch on the sharp edges of the port and break. Again, I'm pretty confident this is the case since I didn't do this.

Good question. I don't think the exhaust sleeves had anything to do with the side seal damage, as a matter of fact I think that by removing them actually did net me positive results. The open exhaust + increased exhaust port volume from removing the sleeves + the E-85 combined kept EGT's and backpressure WAY down. Coolant temps have always been good, maybe even too good. I'm not worried about melting the center insert since EGT's are so low, so I will keep that one in place for future builds.

I think he is posting this "development" to share with others who may want to do the same , but weren't sure of the outcome, kudos to JETS3T8 for taking the initiative to experiment.
I think the word your looking for is reply, not replay.

If it is negative then the OP must go into a little corner and sob a little bit.
Also the whole point of spending that much money into their car is to listen to your opinions and provide you numbers.
Obviously people cant just post about their experience and experiments in their build. That is not how rx8club.com rolls

The point is he does care about the build and what some people may think, not everyone. The OP should simply ignore sceptics
and nay sayers posts and
carry on with his epic build
instead of replying to trolls.
good luck on the next dino jet

lol, so basically if you post on a forum, you should whole heartily accept what every dick & harry says about your build.
