Been a while...

I have a coolant leak at the rear engine stud location that I haven't had time to fix (drop trans, etc.)
I lost most of my coolant the night before I was supposed to hit the dyno.
I'll get around to fixing it before summer is over...

Just curious, why did u opt to go with 180 bends instead of 90* couplers shooting straight up? looks like u could lose about 4ft and get better spooling..

Build looks great!

Strictly for cosmetic not for functional purposes, also because I "think" there were some bumper guts that were in the way and my fabricator had to work around it. In race trim the intercooler will be entirely bypassed anyways when on M1 fuel.

Finally had time to drop trans and confirm coolant leak from engine studs.
Will be fixed in time to make SS14...

Yup, gotta hit up Greg, he's knows a guy that's close by...

I currently have the APV ports open (no blocking plate) and it runs crappy up top.

did you verify that it is only an external leak?

I was planning to take it before SS. Think that's possible?

I'm sure enough because all the nuts had coolant leaking from them, the 3 stock tension bolts were dry. The stud kit doesn't seal at the threads and silicone needs to be applied to prevent leaks, I didn't do that. As far as I know, the motor wasn't burning coolant either, no coolant in chambers when I looked and oil looked normal.
I'm running a 0 pressure(low pressure) system with NPG-R and a 0psi cap.

Might be a casting problem on the MSP engines with the studs, not sure yet.

I know several people are running them on Rx-8 engines without issues( and 100s of Rx-7 owners).

I have only recently advised people to use hylomar on the studs just in case..

I know of a bunch of 7's running the studs as well and no leaks. The two guys I talked to did say they apply silicone on the threads where the bolts go just as a precautionary measure...I didn't do that.

I literally just finished the repairs and just have to bolt up the mid-pipe and charge the battery. I even threw in an oil/filter change, NPG-R coolant flush/change and trans & rear-end flush/change. Phew!!!

Chances are really good now that I'll have time to put this thing on a dyno this Friday...

wow.. great build thread
but have you thought about unloading air pressure from the wheel wells? the vents up front open right into the front wheel wells. ive been thinking about opening mine but i have not figured out how to make a shroud to help direct air to the vent and not past it onto my door jam.. yet....
also i have had the same idea about the rear diffuser using two none model specific units and molding them together ( like one off a f430 b/c im trying to run a center exit exhaust) but if your trying to make one to fit around your rear exhaust, will you get close to the angel you will need to make it effective? i decided to just remove the bottom half of the black section on mine to make it work.
let me know your thoughts on this thx!
