I came across an issue yesterday. I installed three prosport premium series gauges last month using the add a fuse method to avoid splicing into wires. I tried to install them in the below configuration knowing that in this configuration I would have white during day and red at night. Unfortunitly, the fuse panel in my Mustang only has constant 12v fuses or ignition on fuses, no switchable fuses. So I put the Orange wire on a constant 12v fuse knowing the gauges will be red all the time. I was fine with this for the meantime, until I find a suitable switchable 12v source.
They worked great for the last month until yesterday. I had to disconnect my battery to fix a SRS bag light. Upon reconnecting the battery I noticed that the gauges came on and stayed on, mind you the car was off with no key in ignition. I disconnected and reconnected with the same result. For the life of me I can't figure out what went wrong upon disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. The weirdest part is that if I swap the white and orange wires, meaning the white one goes into a constant 12v fuse port and the orange into a ignition on fuse port the gauges work as intended except in a constant white unlike before which they were in a constant red. What am I missing?
Red- Constant 12v
Orange- Swithable 12v
White- Ignition on 12v
Black- Ground

Prosport Gauges
Just installed the Lotek pod with premium Prosport gauges and very happy with the finish of the pod matches my dash perfectly, colour matches and finish grain is slightly larger but unless you looking for it you can't tell the difference. Looks like it came from the factory. The Prosport gauges seem to spot on with water temp (raditor hose sender) matching the obd perfectly, not sure about the oil temp and pressure though no way to compare. Checked with a infrared temp gauge and about 5 to 10 degrees less the the gauges so perhaps spot on also. Set up with white (on the blue side) days and red nights, looks very factory

Ive had prosport gauges in my car since the end of 2007 and they have worked flawlessly. The car sat for two years at one point and they were exposed to -20deg weather as well as 90+deg summer days and they day I got it running again they just started up like it had been a day since the last time.
Attached are some pics of my setup.
Cheers!

EVO-R RX-8 Performance products
Its at the bottom of this page. The link on the picture doesn't work but they still sell it. Just call or send an email to them. Its relatively cheap, its good looking real carbon fiber and it allows the Bose center channel to still function.
Cheers!

Hi
Just wondering if any one has used the 38 mm water temp adapter. Prosport has the the 34 mm on back order and won't be available for a month. I intend to place it where the connecting pipe is now. A number of posts say the 34 mm is a little loose so maybe I can use the 38 mm instead.
Thanks before hand for any help.

My experiences with water temp sender location, first had the sender at the RB (heater hose) location and my gauge (Prosport) read 15 to 20 degrees less the the obd. Then placed the sender in the radiator hose and got readings that matched the obd exactly. The only problem was that the gauge will not read until the thermostat opened usually after 5 minutes of running plus if the thermostat sticks closed you have no warning of overheating until the engine goes south. Wondering if anyone tried the drain bolt on the block for the sender location seems like it would be the ideal location if an adapter can found or made.
Just my 2 cents

Checkout Aipex8's thread https://www.rx8club.com/interior-aud...gauges-209682/. There are pics of the pod we went with. There is no bias on how they face and IMO it is the best looking pod

Water temp sender location
Don't really like the radiator hose location of the temp sender , get accurate readings there but if the thermostat sticks closed you'll have no indication until the motor goes south. Going over the Mazda heater parts diagram I realized that the hose that the RB adapter is on is the return line from the heater core, the coolant has to past the heater core which is a small radiator hence cooler temps (my 15 to 20 degrees drop and from other posts (Gdawg522) with the same problem) then the engine temp. It makes more sense to me to mount it on the feed line just below the return line, the coolant then comes directly from the engine and closer to the real temp. I'm welcome to anyone to point out any errors in my thinking before I start cutting up expensive hoses.

I'm looking at getting the EVO gauges from Prosport and I'm wondering if the oil filter block from Prosport will work with the S2 or is it the same as the Racing Beat product which will not work with the S2.
I know there's a bango bolt for the oil cooler line out there but would like to get all products from
the same distributor to make things simple. 1 order 1 delivery ( you get the idea ).

Has anyone tried any dual function guages? I have had this car forever and since reading on here for a while I have decided it would be worth the investment to put some actual functional guages in the car. All the solutions for guages I have seen can accommodate a maximum of three guages. Therefore I was researching dual function guages. In that manner you can achieve up to six pieces of critical data. I was just wondering if anyone has tried any of them and had any input on accuracy and reliability. My preference is digital, but not a requirement. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
