oh ok.

1.4 should be the final update and it will fix all the problems you currently have.

I'm pretty sure he was saying: he wishes someone near him needed an update and would offer him a brew or something the way switch offered J owens....

hey everyone just did the 1.4 update. also big props to JUICE who told me about the forum about the a/c problem to re solder the connections, my mechanic did that for me tonight and the a/c works great now feels like its even colder then before, sure enough the solder that were on the board were cracked, me and my tech were able to see the cracks with a magnifying glass, such a wierd problem but yeah got 1.4 update and a/c fixed, so just to let everyone know

if you go to this kit and you notice either you get all heat or all a/c all the time, its not the kit, it is indeed the a/c heat module

Err I think my typing was a little off.

I do have the cable and I am getting the private updates. I was just jealous someone was offering to hook you up with deals on snowboarding equipment. I meant that I wished someone around here would hook me up with something if I updated their kit.

Oh wait.. raphy3 got it.

I'll gladly buy some brew or whatever.
If it's all sorted out by the K1 meet, and you go, maybe we can do the update there.

Is it possible to get a replacement Axxess box? Mine was messed up during the install and the HVAC controls and temperature display are locked into what they were set on when the wires came off.

Try checking your connections.

i know noone seems to want to think about this... but this kit was supposed to be out, on sale glitch free beginning of august. it is not almost xmas, and there is issues. I can appreciate that the price is the cheapest but at what cost? It would seem that quality was skimped...

Question about the illumination wires. One works with the dimmer and one works with the lights on/ lights off selector. What happens if both are tied in together to the single illumination wire from the aftermarket head unit? Can this be done or can you only use one or the other?

Hopefully someone is monitoring this board nw. I only have a short amount of time with the cable and it does not seen to be working for me. I plugged in the cable and it loaded the drivers for it. I then opened webexpress updater and all it did was load the bootloader. When I plug in the axess box it doesn't do anything else, even if I run the updater again all it does is load the bootloader program onto my computer. I never got a walkthrough to update the actual axxess box. Anyone who has updated know what I am missing or doing wrong?

These are the instructions from the axxess site.

1. Download the Axxess WebXXpress Updater program here.
2. Connect your Axxess interface piece via the USB-CAB cable.
3. Execute the downloaded setup.exe file.
4. Follow through the setup, once loaded, to update your product.
5. Once complete, You are now up to date!

I completed step 1 and 2. Where is the .exe file? It is the shortcut on the desktop for the webexpress updater correct? The only thing it does is keep installing the bootloader.

Nevermind, I don't have the cable any longer. I still got charged $10 to borrow it even though I never got it to work right. The guy wasn't going to let me borrow it but I couldn't connect to the Internet in the stereo shop. I had to leave a $50 deposit to take it out the door for an hour. I'm still not sure why the bootloader would not run for me.

Please somebody add me to their list of recipients when the cables start making their way around for loan.

Thanks

OK I have this kit and everything works except my rear defrost... I can only change the first character in the text display and the light does not come on for the rear defrost but all other functions lights work i.e. I can get ac, heat, etc and I can also get to the function to change temp, clock and text but cant select any characters other than the first one (the courser cant go to the right)... anyone else have this problem or do I somehow have a defective axxess box?

No you can not. You need to use the Inverted Dimming (Pin G)

1) Run webexpress updater
2) Connect cable BUT NOT THE AXXESS CIRCUIT BOARD & make sure drivers are installed
3) Run USBBootLoader MAKE SURE THE AXXESS CIRCUIT BOARD IS NOT CONNECTED AT THIS POINT ONLY THE CABLE
4) Click Update Unit Board DO NOT CONNECT THE CABLE TO THE BOARD
5) When the USBBootLoader says connect cable to the board NOW YOU CAN CONNECT THE 4 PIN WHITE HARNESS TO THE BOARD! MAKE SURE YOU DO IT FIRMLY IN ONE PUSH
6) DONE

Possibly you have a bad unit.. or it could be your connections.

Thanks Roller, (again). I don't know what the issue was. The bootloader would download, but everytime I tried to run the bootloader program it would give me an error message. I removed the entire thing from my computer and I will re-download it the next time I have access to a cable. As for now, still v1.0, oh well next time.

On a lighter note, my HVAC works like a charm now. There is a great DIY on the board here showing how and where to re-solder the connectors behind the temp control ****. If any of you are getting full hot and full cold, but nothing in between, this is the fix for you. And on the down side of this DIY, when taking apart the HVAC controls I found the previous owner of my 8 had broken and superglued the fan control **** back in place. Anyone have an extra HVAC fan control **** sitting around that they don't need anymore? I would gladly pay for it.

Hmm I wonder what you guys are doing during installation to push the solder joints off. Is this only a problem in the 04?
