Say Jedi..... I was thinking of mounting my amp in the same area as you have yours. I'm toying with the idea of replacing the carpeted cover with a custom cut piece of acrylic? But I'm worried that the plastic will get scratched up over time........ anyone know of any plastic that cannot be scratched? Don't make me use real glass!

hey kanedrz, thanks for the bump!
In response to your PM: yup, I used the stock bose to power the rear deck speakers.

Hey jedi54
I noticed you mentioned you used the The Soundgate LOCB.2 Bose Line Output Converter. I am getting the dreaded hiss noise from my setup[https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/my-new-trunk-part-1-a-126667/
would the line converter remove this noise?

I am stealing this setup from you for my own upgrade.
Let me just make sure I have this straight. You replaced all the tweeters, and the rear deck 6x9's, and powered them all off the Bose amp, while leaving the front 9" speakers alone correct?
Also, you used the LOC to power the subs by connecting it to the output of the Bose amp or the factory stereo?
Also, how do the front tweeters fit in the pods for them?

omg, my system is getting hijacked AGAIN!
- Correct. The front tweeters, rear tweeters, and 6x9's were replaced. The front tweeters are smaller then the Bose tweeters so you'll need to get a bit creative with the mounting brackets if you go with the Infinity's.
The Rear deck tweeters also did not fit so hence the cutting of the rear deck. (which to this day I still love the looks of)
The front door speakers were left untouched. (as was the "center channel" speaker up front / behind the nav)
LOC was wired in behind the headunit. (there's wiring diagram on here somewhere with great illustrations)

I remember seeing a post or something where someone said there is a module that gives you a double-din opening in place of the stock stereo. It was huge and expensive. It replaced the entire radio/climate control/ashtray assembly and I believe
cost $650.

I'm thinking of doing some lighting in the trunk right after SevenStock. Stay tuned...I'll post pics as soon it's complete.

Jedi, i plan to upgrade my front speakers, add a sub and NOT do anything to the rear speakers. Plan to keep the rears stock.
From what i've read here, i have to use a LOC, so i plan to use one of navone's. Cos the price's reasonable.
Is the 2 channel ones sufficient? For the sub, do I also need to use that same LOC that is going to be used for the front speaker's aftermarket amp?
Thanks jedi.

Thread resurrection.
Great looking setup, Jedi, nice work.
Any issues with these boxes sliding or falling over if/ when you drive the car hard into corners? I enjoy driving my car hard but don't want to have to worry about things sliding all over the place.
Thanks in advance.

thanks success!
I've put my car through several VERY agressive canyon runs and the boxes have never moved. I couldn't ask for a tighter / better fitting box then these things.
They're not the cheapest boxes out there but worth every penny.
You thinking of adding subs soon?

I actually have a custom setup already that includes a single JL 12w3 and 250/1 amp but was thinking of changing. My existing setup covered the entire trunk but I recently added a JIC rear strut bar that puts itself right through the middle, of the rear section, of the setup. My amp is now resting on the strut bar and has the ability to slide all over the place. I have since placed towels under and on either side of the amp so it doesn't move but its no longer a good looking setup like before. I need to sell the whole setup or redo it somehow.
I looked into a single 10w7 with a 500/1 but I don't think that I'll like the unbalanced look of only having one sub on one side of the trunk. My existing 12w3 sits nicely in a shallow box in the cubby hole of my trunk. Everything else is no higher than 5" up from the trunk floor and then extended throughout the trunk making it look like the trunk was 5" more shallow than it actually is.
Anywho, I need to do something but I just need to figure out what. I'll probably start by posting the setup in the for sale section and go from there.
Again, your trunk looks great!

thanks Gothamite!
I was pleased to find out that the mp3 unit actually skips MUCH less then my OEM unit did. In fact, it hardly EVER skips now that I think about it.
