Scrmn8 / Brdgreen: if you guys decide to do installs, let me know and I'll let you know where I bought all the stuff at really low prices. Michael, if you just want highs, those infinitys would work great with that bass cannon you've already got.

I was SO sore the next morning! Worth all the muscle aches though.
Oh boy, this is going to be a scary number.
Install started at 10 am and went until after 12:30 am! Took another 30 minutes to tune everthing. (this included small breaks and lunch)
14 hours for install
8 hours for Dynamat
22 hours total

btw - Maybe I missed it, and you've answered this - but how do you have the subs wired? Is one reversed in polarity so they aren't fighting eachother? Anything like that? How did you connect to the stock deck?

If you'd like, I can measure everything out for you - I bet I could cut a facade for you, too and ship it off. Shouldn't be more than about $10 for wood, and about that to ship (it's light). You could finish it however you'd like. I think the facade REALLY helps, as opposed to seeing the back of the box w/ the gaps and what-not.

The subs are wired in parallel. The total load on the amp is .9 ohms according to my multimeter. The amp is rated down to a 1 ohm load.
These subs are dual 4 ohm voice coil.

Then how'd it get to .9? Two 4 vc's in series = 8 ohm load. That 8ohm number matches up w/ the link to the literature provided.
Thinking aloud (or, atype?) -
each woofer is set to an 8 ohm load. two 8 ohm loads in parrallel = 4 ohm load. Back in the day, 'mono' amps would see half the load attached to them? Something like that? That'd put it at 2.
I've been 'out' of car audio since the early/mid 90's, so my math may be off.
Help a brother out?

The amp is connected the stock head unit using the LOCB.2. This line converter is designed for differental outputs.

4 ohms per voice coal.
That means (4) ohms per coil devided by (2) coils per speaker = 2 ohms per speaker
(2) ohms per speaker dvided by (2) speakers = 1 ohm total load.

If it's two, 4-ohm vc's wired in Series, it's 8ohms total load (which is what the paperwork tells us).
Running in series 'doubles' an ohm load, where as in Parrallel, it halves it; again, IIRC.

awesome Jedi! I had seen bits and pieces on other threads, but it is good to see the whole install... It is funny seeing all the panels out of the car does not phase me in the least any more... I know all the fasteners and wires and routing spots!!!
I love the voltage readout on the cap...nice touch. I read mine from the Scanalyzer software on the CarPC....it's amazing how much useful data is on OBDII that people never see... even fuel remaining in 10ths of a percent...as opposed to the crappy needle on the dash....
Anyways, you go me thinking I need tweets in the rear now too, not just the front....
I am extremely happy with the new subs in my car, just a little sparkle up top and I will call it a day...
p.s. my sister just got an apartment last night in Redondo and will be moving there B4 x-mas... I am sure I will be traveling out there in a few months!
