I'm anxious for this product to come out too since my girlfriend has a Mazda3 and I want to give her an IPOD and install taht as a gift.

Well I found out interesting news today. There are two adaptors on the horizon. The first adaptor we have been waiting for is delayed until later this summer. The new one I'm waiting for info on.

I'd prefer the first adaptor to come out since that should be a better deal but I don't have firm pricing on either yet.

I'll keep you updated...looks like my girlfriend and others will be waiting a bit longer

Any idea how this adaptor physically interfaces to the ipod? i.e., where will the ipod itself be located. It would be great if it could be mounted in the center console. Sort of like the 8 Track of the new millenium.

I just bought my RX-8 and the dealer said Mazda would be coming out with a unit that would dock the iPod in the bottom half of the head unit. Is that what this is? Can you tell us the manufacturer name(s) so we can google for more info?
