Are you kidding? You are planning to put 100w to an L7? Come on, sell that L7 and give it to someone who will treat it properly. There is no point to having such a well engineered sub when you are only going to use 10% of its capability. Either buy an additional amp or get a more efficient, less power hungry sub. To properly power that sub you need an 800-1000w amp. As far as splitting the RCA's, yes you can do that. Won't work if you have the bose system though, you'll need to replace the speakers and wiring as well.

I'm not familar w/ that amp, but most should have a bridge mode so you shouldn't be splitting anything....

If you must split RCA's then I'd question your set-up.

i have a 500/1 on the L7's now but i dont need it to be that loud..and i dont want to pull that much current from my battery if i run both amps. Do you think my car can handle both amps. RIght now i have a 2 farad cap on there.

2 farads for a 500 watt amp? Overkill anyone?

splitting RCAs is okay, but u might want to rig up some diode & resistor circuitry so sound quality won't suffer.

2 farads for 500watt amp is not really overkill in my opinion. It'll just store a little more power than a 1 farad. Recommended is at least 1farad per 1000watts rms. It does not hurt to have a big capacitor in your system. I'm using a 15farad for around 1600watts-2000 rms.

thats what crossed my mind for a sec also

but a 500/1 on the L7 10"
AND A 500/5 for the interior your saying ?
confused other post I see you have 2 10"connected
2 capacitors doesnt seem like a overkill to me

In that case, the combination still wouldnt work too well considering the ratings on the amplifier are way too low to power 2 of those subs. You could get these subs wired down to 1 ohm depending on if they are [2+2] or [4+4] ohms but your amp cant handle it, and even if it did, you would have them severely underpowered with that JL500/5

ok, the 500/5 jl amp is 100x2 front, 25x2 rear, and 250x1 sub. that amp is way underpowered for one, let alone 2 L7's. you would use 2 loc's, (line output convertors) to get the signal to the amp, so you can retain your fader control from the head unit. you would need to figure out which wires were which on the output side of the factory amp, and splice into them to get sound to your speakers, either that or run all new speaker wires which would be a royal pain in the butt.
