I'm gonna have to do this.Racing Beat has finally produced their version for the three gauge pod set-up.They've taken a complete different approach to the location of their set-up.Check their site.

Yeah but for some reason Racing Beat put the gauges in the most inconvenient (and probably dangerous) place possible. Who wants to look down at their ashtray while driving to see their water temp? Sorry, but I think their placement is terrible.

From what I understand...the person who got the prototype is in the process of trying to find someone to manufacture the molds and the pod units for this. Keep in mind the learning curve will not be 2 weeks...so give him some time

Anybody know how much the OEM, non-Nav, w/ Bose Center speaker dash piece is at the dealership? $20, $50, $200?

I've got an idea for a temporary rig, while waiting to see what happens with this pod but don't want to ruin my OEM piece. I want to keep it in the event I wanted to go back to stock. Also, if the OEM piece from the dealer is expensive than it is just not worth it.

Well, in defense to racing beat, I think the placement of those gauges in the ashtray is ideal for 2 reasons. 1, they aren't critical gauges and the only time you should ever check them is when you think you have a problem, and 2, if they mounted those on the dash then people with turbo setups would be very limited in the available space they have for extremely important gauges like afr and boost.

As an owner of the Racing Beat gauges I have to agree that the placement is not an issue. After a few days you learn what the normal readings are for the three items. It only would take a quick glance to notice a needle that was not in its normal spot.

Placement for me is a non-issue with RB. The fact that they won't sell the pod sans gauges is the issue. I already have 2, more critical, gauges that I need to mount.

Hi, I want to get a forced induction supercharger at some point next year and want to monitor my engine bay better.

I have OEM Satnav and want some kind of monitoring solution where i can measure stuff electronically, and have it display (via a PDA or electronic gauge controller) onto my SatNav screen

I want to show oil pressure and temp, water temp (not as imp), air/fuel, and boost. (Not nec all of them, but ideally)

I know someone here who can do teh Satnav screen conversion to display composite video for me......

Any ideas?

Here's a thread that asks a similar question.

You can probably find some good answers here. Don't know if it can hook up to the OEM display but it will at least let you know what systems are out there.

yeah, that one is nice, looks great and all, but it wont fit LHD. the left side of it contours to the center of the dash, not the part right above the air vent. and, it is only 2 gauges, and in a perfect world I want 3.

^^problem is, as it is with almost anything cool or in production...it is for RHD.

I give up. One of our locals has ordered the Racing Beat setup, and once he gets it installed, I am going to have a look, and see if I like where they are placed, and go from there. It should not be this hard.

yeah, he psoted the pic of the one derwankel started, to show the predicted finish, and the general goal. At least that is how I saw it. And it also seemed like he was willing to sell you the template, or whatever would be required to make one yourself. I don't have time to make one myself, I just want to buy it.
