having them be close to each other is normal.

glad to hear the car is running well again.
I would still double check everything to be certain there are no leaks.

Great writeup and pics on this topic. I will be doing the same setup soon, but I will be mounting the oil sender to the frame of the car and using a -3 line to connect it to the plate. This is because I don't think the sender should just hang off the adaptor plate, it dosn't seem all that strong.

once you have the sender in your hands and feel it's lack of weight, you'll understand why most of us just leave it hanging

you should have seen their site last year...
And technically it is in the correct section (oil system) since the gauge pod was originally designed to accomadate 3 gauges, two of which monitored the oil system. (oil temperature and oil pressure)

are you going with their complete kit? http://www.racingbeat.com/RX8/Oil-System/11816.html
or are you using different gauges?
keep in mind the gauges I went with are discontinued.

big thumbs up for DEFI gauges, i have them in my pod and luv em.

I had the cyberdyne (the suck, dont buy them, they all failed within one month) for the digital look but I find the ability to just glance at the gauge and see where the needle is makes a better set up.

I believe the middle gauge is oil pressure.
