Mine broke before I even got the car off the lot.

Dealer was installing the license plate on the back of the car while I was sitting in the driver's seat, getting ready to drive away in my new car (06...purchased 2/14/07)... I noticed that the sunvisor wasn't going all the way up. I asked the salesman about it and he took it off to try to fix it...Causing the wires to touch and blow the fuse in the stereo.

All before I drove off the lot.

My "first night" with my new car was actually with a loaner.

They fixed it the next morning. That was February. A couple of weeks ago, I was waiting in line at a drive through...Checked the mirror, gently put the visor up, then heard a loud POP, and the thing flopped down and almost smacked me in the face.

I had to drive to work "looking cool" while holding the damn visor out of my face.

The next day, I called the dealer. The girl in service said that there were a ton of cars ahead of me, but bring it up there. They worked me in same day (giving me shuttle service back to work, then back to the dealer after work). She said that they keep a lot of them in stock, since they break so much.

Just had my passenger side sun visor replaced a few days ago. My car is a Feb06 build that I purchased new in November, and a month after purchase I had the driver side one replaced. To those of you that only had one replaced so far, I am willing to bet that the other hasn't failed yet because it simply hasn't been used much (as was my case). My new driver side one seems much sturdier now than the passenger side one was before it broke. I would recommend trying to wear the other one in more to see if it breaks (open/close it often) -- especially if you're near warranty expiration.

guess i wasn't alone - within my first week of having my 8 the visor broke - evidently it's a common issue - just take it back to the dealership - it's covered under warranty

Mine broke when I'd had the car about two months (but I bought a leftover '06). As others have stated, be careful with the wires or you'll blow the fuse--which means no radio, no smart key or power locks, no interior/trunk lights and the CEL will come on.

Just went to mazda of roswell today in ATL, GA. They told me my car was under warranty i would not have to worry about it. The same thing that happened to the prerson who started this post back in 03 happened to me but i never used it and it stayed in the up position so i never worried about it. Did not know if it was covered so i just said to hell with it. Then it started falling down and i had to damn near punch it in place to keep it up. So i figured it was time to go to the dealer. Glad i did it should be replaced along with hopefully a grinding tranny next week.

Spent this past weekend at the Ritz Carlton in Naples and when the Valet brought my car around after I checked out it was covered in bird **** and also found my driver's side visor broken too!

When I pointed out the 4 pounds of bird feces all over my car he offered to clean it for me - at that point I just wanted my keys and my car in order to avoid any more accidents.

I feel sorry for the other guests who had Mercedes 550's, Porsche Carrera GT's, Aston Martin's etc...

Needless to say the dealership is replacing the visor this saturday along with a recall concerning the fuel cap and a reprogramming of the computer.

Going in again for another broken visor. Not sure if this is the 2nd or 3rd driver side. The passenger side has been replaced once. This time it will be replaced under the TSB so hopefully this resolves the issue.

Has anyone here had a broken visor since the TSB came out?

Pretty sure your new visor will be fine. TSB says it was re-designed just to address this problem.

My driver's side visor cracked two weeks ago. I used Gorilla glue and a clamp to repair it. I'm waiting for the passenger side to crack before taking it to the dealer. I'll probably won't have to wait to long, the temps here will be in the 100s for the remaining week.

I had both sides replaced at two different times. The service manager at Toms River Mazda (NJ) is great. They were replaced with no questions. He also replaced the console cover. And I think I may have used the visors twice before breaking. Great design!

Joined the club yesterday!

I've got 57k on my '04 GT..........well, you ain't gonna believe this s___t!

I called my local dealer (Mazda of Wesley Chapel) that just opened about 6 months ago...and they said they would take care of it!

Unbelievable!!! Out of warranty and didn't buy it from them, yet they still said they would fix it no charge.

Now That's what I'm talkin' about!

Bingo! Mine happened a year ago doing that same thing. I'll bet you feel any resistance what-so-ever now................you will STOP immediately. I'm so paranoid everytime I get in the car now.
