Adding a little "bump" to the ride
Adding a little "bump" to the ride
Okay okay, i know this is kind of a stupid question... but for me to install my sub to my car, do i have to replace the head unit? i have managed to hook systems up to stock cd palyers before, but i was just wondering if its mandatory on the 8? i cant believe i dont know this lol
this is all going the wrong way lol. but seriously tho, think it would be that difficult? i just dont want to pull that whole unit out. ugh, i just want to pay someone else to do it
i wired my rear speaker outs into the high level inputs of my amp and all is well. if you dont have high level inputs on your amp use the low level buy adding a LOC <- search the forum for more info on this
for some reason, when i search for stuff on here, im getting just lots of random **** that does not apply to what my question is at all lol. but im actually adding a sub, which means im going to have to hook the RCA Cables and radio wire directly to the head unit from the amp if im not mistaken...??? maybe its just been to long for me to remember what i did last time lol but im sure there is a thread on here about that.... to bad ill never find it lol

and the radio wire? im just trying to figure out if im going to have to remove the head AT ALL. i dont want to... if i gets down to it to where i have to starting taking panels off and **** to remove the unit, im gonna have someone else do it
you dont need to remove it.
I had a Jlw6 and an amp that I had in my truck and I bought a box from srq customs. I took that stuff and my car to Stereo West and said hook it up. They charged me $200.
I installed my whole system in my '04 Dodge Ram (head unit, 4 speakers+amp, sub+amp) but I had some extra $$ and just didn't feel like doing it this time. BTW I have the non bose system + my sub and amp and it suits me perfectly.
