If you are concerned about light output, LEDs are not the way to go. The are mainly cosmetic, and work well as DRLs. If you want light output, you'll want HID fogs.

 

Im not too concerned about light output as long as it doesnt give less output than stock bulbs. Do you think itll give off less light than stock bulbs ?? Even if it does ill still change to LEDS, its mostly for looks anyway.

 

LED's will be significantly less output than the normal 55W bulbs in there. Also 6000k is much cooler than normal halogen which is around 3300K.
There are 3300k HID's, which work pretty well for fogs. They're just standard 4300K HID's with the standard fog light yellow coating. They're more yellow than standard halogens, but less yellow than the halogens with the same coating. Also much brighter.

 

I would just get an HID kit, you get tons of output (especially if you snap off the caps ). A quality pnp kit can be had for around $50 from ddmtuning or vvme. Its a 30 min install and looks great https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-exterior-appearance-body-kits-27/so-i-put-hid-fogs-178855/

 

im really interested in these dual color turn signals ( http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...-p7589718.html ) but will they work with an 04? the turnsignals are not running lights so would the white LED's light up when the headlights/parklights are on or would it just be the amber LED's when turn signal is activated only?

 

there is a diy for turning the side markers into turn signals.. wondering if that would do the trick with these new bulbs

 

Only the amber would light up. Our signal are single filament bulbs with a separate parking light. Those will work for S2 though.

need some advice. I currently purchased the 9bulb LED's from RotaryFX and didnt realize how different they would look from stock HIDS. Does anyone have this setup? and also what HID bulb do you recommend to match the LED. Also, what sidemarker bulb would you guys recommend with that setup?

I have read that 6000k D2s Bulbs is a good option.

I looked on the first page of this thread to see whether you run any relay kit on your HID foglights, but I didn't see anything. So I assume that you don't have it. My question is, do you have any problem with your setup? My left side doesn't always turn on everytime. I don't know if it has anything to do with the low voltage/current on my car as the engine idle seems a little rough when I turn the mains & fogs on at the same time.

Will a relay kit help? Which one would I need? I checked out a few different ones on V-LEDS website and came across a mixed bag of comments/feedbacks.

 

And running lights led burnt out again..... I give up I'm taking them out no running lights for awhile

 

HID's are typically 35W, low beams (and the halogen's in our fogs) are 55W bulbs. Shouldn't need a relay kit for HID's. Most HID kits are rated to work down to about 9v. I've had exactly 1 problem with my HID fogs, and when I inspected the setup I found the connector (from the car to the HID power supply) was loose. Other than that they've worked perfectly for about 2 yrs.
The cheap ebay kit I previously had was temperamental for a month or 2, then both power supplies just failed outright.

 

I'm having a hard time getting to the parking lights. How exactly did you get to them to replace the bulbs

I've been looking around but I can't figure this out. So all I am shooting for is to have my fogs match my HID's, I know if you want to get new, more powerful HID's you need a new wiring ballast and stronger step-up transformers for the increased wattage, but If I'm just trying to match up colors, can I simply plug in some LED's to my current fog light a running light sockets?

My knowledge of diodes says, no, unless the LED's are made for that voltage.

Finally got my fog HID's 6K. Is there a guide to install these bad boys somewhere in this thread? Do I need to remove the bumper or is taking the undertray out good enough? Thanks in advance.

 

I didn't remove my bumper to install mine. Just had to remove the side splash guards. Pull the tire off to make things easier.

 

I personally pulled the bumper off but then again I pull the bumper off for everything it helped me space the ballast to bulb length. that and I went and de-capped the housing but that was a personal choice. You can always bend it down enough to fit the bulb. Whatever gives you enough room and is the easiest for you is my answer

Been using V-LEDS for a couple years now, and I just got the newer 4 M-SMT 2W High Power bulbs for the parking lights -- after they finally got them back in stock. The leds in the fogs and sidemarkers are also 6K and overall they're a good match for the 6K HIDs.

They are brighter and even whiter than they look here and get a lot of compliments!
