new clear coners
When you say paint around... do you mean a border around the lense? My last corners, (after old clearcorners but before these) were tinted amber corners that i painted a black border. It matches the look of the vents and plastic on the mirrors... so is this what you mean? I just snapped these 2 shots about 20 seconds ago on the cell phone.

Im thinking a combination of this and possibly a lightly frosted coating might be what the new CC's need. I have the same LEDs as you rotr8... I knew these corners wouldnt refract light but i just realized that they wont reflect... Theyre probably not street legal are they.
or maybe just tinting them is the way to go. I still cant get the condensation out of one of them. Does anyone know if white lithium grease is ok for the rubber o-ring? Ive always used it on metal... not sure if its ok for rubber/plastic. I do like how the corners look like the headlights but what ive ALWAYS been in search of on my now 5th set of corners is for them to just go away. The old ambers are going to be eventually painted the color of the car. Hopefully just match the paint. I bought some supposedly color matched phantom blue online but somehow i doubt it would be the same as MY paint.
These are the only pics i have of my car with them installed... some idiot woman kinda drove over her line at publix... anyway you can see condensation in one. No matter how many times i take it out, dry it, and reinstall.... more condensation comes.

Not enough to call the cops, and i touched it up and its like any other small rock chip, but i still went in to yell at her. Typical florida fat ugly pseudo religious white trash with the ugliest little girl i ever saw. *vomit*
rotr8 - are you going to try frosting yours? Im condifent i can do the border again, it was pretty easy. Roll of masking tape, can of paint. And it lasted on the corners for 8 months of living outside 24/7 in FL, so its easily durable enough without a base coat or roughing the surface. I just used the spraypaint for plastics. First time not going the primer, base, topcoat route and it worked pretty well. Im thinking instead of frosting, to maybe get a tint/frost... if that exists?

Did anybody purchase these with the "High Power LED" (http://www.rx8strakes.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=442) set that's also available on the site? I'm curious as to how these corners looks with them as the connector and housing for the LED looks to be already blacked out.

here is a pic of the new corners on my BB, far away shot.
they really do change the look of the car, the bright orange really did grab alot of your attention. Now the rims seem to be the 1st thing you notice. look at the pic in my sig with stock corners for comparison

Thats hot on black and a huge improvement vs. your sig pic^^ I got these assembled on a TiGrey and thought about painting the inside TiGrey but standing back and looking they match the headlight housings very nicely. Painting the bulb socket black is a must no biggie took 2 min with a small brush. I went with chrome bulbs/ amber when lit to remain legal. The chrome bulbs pick up my stainless strakes nicely,
I dont like the look of any of the LEDs in daylight, to ricey for me. The fact that they are flush w/ fenders like the US corners was the selling point for me vs the JDM clears which stick out from the fenders, which I dont understand why they did that. Just to be JDM I guess?

never seen them in person but i dont like the way the bulp has nothing to dispurse the light on. no reflection. the whole point of the side marker light is for reflection.
btw, I am one of those guys that actually likes stock amber side markers so my point is kinda invalid LOL

RXFX is offering these now with painted backs. I'm debating either going with these and stealth amber, or the Mazda clears with LED ambers. The problem is, the greys they say are closely matched to Titanium Grey, but they photo looks extremely dark:

I'm also debating going with either the RXFX aluminum vents, or strakes (ss, gunmetal, or titanium). I'm not sure how the new clears would change my decision on which to go with.
