-SEALED VERSION-
Less than desirable... just mounted mine.
Great concept, just not well done. I do like the look of it when lights are off.
Well it wasn't expensive so I can't expect oem like seal. LOL

So now my right clear corner is leaking again, and I might have exhausted all options short of replacing it. I'd be tempted to pick these up and do the insides with Winning Blue - I have plenty left after my eyelids after all. Not entirely sold on them though.

Edit: Now that I've gone through and looked at some of the pictures, I'll be sticking to the standard clear corners if I buy another set. When I see the way the bulb is just sort of hanging out in there for the world to see during the day, I like them much less.

I would like to see color pictures. I sure hope they have a UV coating otherwise they will get yellow.

ahh... the color pics show up now.

I'm worried about the recess look.

Another Option IMO

I hate to rain on the parade but Mazda also make clear side markers and a wee bit cheaper and by look of what I've seen on this thread and others, are of better quality. I just ordered them at my local Mazda dealer for $25 a piece(Canadian). Here's the part # and a couple of pics.

The clears are OEM Mazda and the parts numbers are:
F151 51 131B
F151 51 121B

We've known about those for 5 years. They're OEM in Japan.

That's like me telling you that gray isn't the only color you can get for a RX-8. Silver is available too.

I think they look good - Still a very nice look on your car Wind Dance!

Did you get these through rx8strakes, they might exchange them for you?

from a distance they look OK. When you get close, they start looking cheap, and the edges where they seal, are clearly visible. A better design would be to hide the sealing points so that you can't see the seams through the transparent part of the lens.

^Exactly. I like the concept don't get me wrong.
edit - Actually the more I look at it, it looks nice with its sunny outside, but at night when the light is on it looks cheap.

Clear corners installed...a few bubbles on the edges not bad. The camera pics up the bubbles a bit, but I don't even notice when standing right next to the car.

you dont need to do a group buy.
just go to any mazda dealership and ask for those part numbers.
$24.57 each canadian. takes about a week for them to order them in.

Lilring, no offense intended, but this picture shows exactly what it is that I don't like about them. It just looks a little bit unnatural to me to have that bulb just hanging out behind that perfectly clear lens for all the world to see. If the housing were chromed or something, like a taillight or headlight housing, it would look so much more natural I think.

I am sure they look great at night, but for me personally, I'll stick to the original (white) clear corners.

I totally agree with you but that is why I am ordering new LEDs and going to a little project with some black paint on the LEDs so it will blend in.
