If I get a hood it would be without the vents, and I would keep the strip and the insulation...

But if you retain the insulation you would have to cut it anyways for the vents to work.... plus i thought about it when i had my hood done... there are around 15 holes you would need to drill for the insulation piece.... so i just left it off

pop open your hood... you will see about 10+ pop rivets holding the insulation piece.

but i had Gemini drill me the 5 small holes that hold the stock weatherstrip piece in the front of the hood near the latch area

Oh crap i just remembered that Gemini didnt mark down on the mold where the holes for the insulation piece are...............

so if you want that... then somehow i have to bring my OEM hood to Gemini again...

Could you explain why this would be important? The sound I understand but what about the heat?

Also... do the vents do anything?

You can simulate it by running it through CFD.

I would keep the insulation as well, because excessive heat could deform the hood.

I think I'm gonna drill my own holes, it won't be that difficult, just need to be cautious. I don't want to take any chances of deforming the hood.

Thanks! I can't wait for the other carbon pieces to come together! Marc said that they were going to design replacement pieces for the side mirrors. Just the cap that is the same color as your car. That would look sweet with the hood!

I finished drilling my own holes for the weather stripping and the heat sheild. It took over an hour in all and cutting out the holes for the vents on the heat sheild. If anyone is going to do this be very carefull not to overdrill into the top layer of the hood.

Yeah thanks for compliment on the hood... people can't stop talking about it when they see it... it's like "hey you forgot about the rest of the car!!!"
