Oh, and I carefully used a toothpick to remove the dip from the inside of the badges. It was a bit tricky and required some patience, but the end result was worth it.

Forgot to add that I dipped the parking lights too. This really adds a nice touch!

Yeah, the lights aren't there for safety reasons or anything, why did you stop with that, better yet do the windsheild. That way everything has that 'murdered out' look.

Lol if I ever dip the whole car, I'll be sure to spray over the windows and whatnot and take a picture before removing it for you guys to see everything 'murdered out' :P

This forum needs a like button for posts. You guys crack me up. I pulled the plastidip from the majority of my 8 since the weather has been so cold. It comes off very easy in the cold. I have only left subtle accents, and I really like how it looks right now.

My advice...grow thicker skin. The world, not just the internet is full of people like that. Why give 2 ***** what someone across the globe is saying about you/your stuff.

Speaking an opinion is not being hateful. Why people get butt hurt is beyond me, I can't imagine they thought all they would receive is praise. Besides some things just suck, and negative attention makes them go away for the most part. Plasti-dip being used as a cosmetic mod is one of those things.

I understand why the hostility can be taken negatively. When I saw the pictures I personally loved the results people where getting, and I wanted to recreate it and throw my own spin on it. Being a member of this forum of RX8 enthusiasts I naturally wanted to talk about it positively in the point that kudos would be thrown around for making an 8 reflect the personality of the person who owned it. I can see that some of us have egos that go beyond the 8 and fellow enthusiasts. You are a car fan, and you have experience that might make you possibly hate the look of plastic paint? Kudos to you. Tell me why you hate it so much instead of telling me the car that I love with a passion looks like ****. It hurts when the people who I respect belittle something that I have become so passionate about. It makes some of us a little more sensitive when we are not sure what the other 8 owners will think. Who gives a **** if a civic owner says it's cool. I post pictures to "attempt" to impress ONLY you guys, or troll you.

If it looks like ****, it looks like ****. There is no way to sugar coat it and why would you want anyone too? If you like the look then rock out with your **** out, IDGAF. Some people have taste and some don't. Some looks end up working out and some don't. But at the end of the day it's your car and your look so if your happy with it then cool, but that doesn't mean others are not pointing and laughing at you.

But why point and laugh? You said it yourself: "Some people have taste and some don't".. Having "taste" is a matter of one's opinion; it's what they feel is tasteful. If you don't feel that it's tasteful or you dislike it, then why do you have to point that out and make the person feel bad about it? It's just disrespectful. I don't take these kinds of things to heart.. I posted photos of my plasti-dipped emblems not because I think they look good, but because I want others to see what they look like, in case they are interested in doing the same, and so that they could see the outcome. Isn't that the point of this thread? Or most of this forum for that matter? In addition to that.. the title of the thread is "Let's see your plasti-dipped parts!!". If you don't want to see them, then why enter the thread? This thread is here for the purpose of which I used it for..

I personally don't like the wheels on your 8, but I'm not ranting about it.. I'm not looking to disrespect you or anyone else.. We share a common interest here: We love our RX-8's! It's your car and it makes you happy; that's all that matters to me.. Do with your car what you please.. even if I personally don't like it, it still makes me happy because we are all here sharing our common interests and sharing with others what we do with our cars so they can see!

I have plenty of wheel threads, rant away until your heart is content. I don't get butt hurt and I don't modify my car to please others. And I post what I think because this is an open forum and I have experience with the downsides of Plasti-crap so I will speak on it.

why point and laugh? dont sit here and say you do things to your car just because it makes you happy. you do it becuase you want others to think it looks good as well. No one, and i mean NO one, wants to drive around with people pointing and saying "that car looks terrible"... but thats gonna happen my man. some will like it and some will dislike it. plastidip is cheap, and people now recognize plastidip as its no longer the new thing on the block. thus, people will recognize your cheap mod. cheap mods = people pointing and laughing. it is what it is man. I have done all kinds of crazy things with my car, some cheap and others expensive, but at the end of it all someone will still say they dont like it.

Yeah we all want props from our fellow enthusiasts in one way or another, I agree. But if someone truthfully thinks plasti-dip looks cool or is a worthwhile aesthetics modification then I don't really respect their opinion so it's quickly disregarded. But if someone who has a great eye and a car I admire says something on my car looks like crap then their opinion is respected and is duly noted.

Plastidip is like a t-shirt, or a pair of shoes you wear for a month or two, then throw out. Unless it was exceptionally "rad" yo.

Everyone here sounds like a bunch of YouTube keyboard war-fighters. Everyone has an opinion. Yes, 9k can come off as a bit arrogant at times, but he never directly insulted anyone during this thread, so how about everyone stop being so butthurt and just stick to their own damn opinions, and everyone respect that everyone else has their own.

Don't take opinions personally. Seriously, this thread is ridiculous.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to say butthurt. I tried not to be the first one. :P

I don't know why I read the entire thing, but every picture in here sucks.
You officially degraded your car and ruined any value in it.

The up close shot of plasti-dip looks like an unprofessional Macco orange peel paint job.

The entire thing just screams "I'm 16 and I can 'paint' things".
