Feeler thread for roof, headlight/taillight overlays

Hey I've got a guy named Andy who wants to use my car as a templete car for a black roof overlay for the Rx8. Just wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in it cause I'm going to do it. I don't have a price or any pics yet cause it hasn't been done yet. Here's his website he has some pics of other cars with the roof and other overlays if anyones interested www.bluebatmobile.net

Let me know how you think it will look on my Silver 8...

Huh never knew anyone sold a roof overlay. Either way I'm going to get it done by this guy and see how it turns out he does really good work. And I'm sure he'd be able to make a CF roof overlay if you guys are really interested.

theres a company in Sacramento that makes CF roof overlays for other mazdas but they never made a rx8 one. im sure if enough of you were insterested they'd make you some. i'll get a link to the company if you want.

im pretty sure rotr8 isnt interested in a cf overlay, he wants a cf replacement. as in, a cf panel that actually replaces the top of the roof.

hell, if there is a company, post it. thats a really nice mod and it would finally get rid of my sunroof, and lower my CoG to boot.

well i think the question is how reliable is this overlay, even the one on ebay... does it really withstand rain, sun, snow, all that and more? and still look good after it?
then to finish off how well does it realle look after a couple of years?

As I mentioned before there is a company that makes a CF replacement. It is expensive. Search the forum and you should find it.

Prob not, but for 60 bucks what do you honestly expect to get.

waste of money. do the real thing or atleast paint it.

that overlay is going to fade and chip and bubble in the sun, and when you take it off its going to make the roof look like fresh paint and the rest of the car dull.

Bingo,,, I cant say that Ive searched hard but with all the frivolous crap in the forum Id really appreciate some help with a link...
Like Kersh said I am interested in a replacement I have a sunroof but would deffinately get rid of it along with purchase the correct headliner...
pdxhak please let us know if you could take some time to post the link or name of the co. perhaps what the subject of the thread was so we can search more in depth
