When is the C.Z. Mid-P-4 due to ship?

Any idea when the C.Z. Mid-P-4 is due to ship? I am guessing that I am 1 of many who are patiently waiting for Random to finish upgrading the unit. Then you will get them. Then us.

In the meantime, do you have any idea on the timescales here...

Thanks.

Last I heard the original supplier that Maurice found flaked out on him and he had to go to another source: Random Technologies. They, in turn, had to design a completly new unit to his specs and ramp up for production. I believe delivery is 4-6 weeks out, but may well be less now because this was a while ago I spoke with Maurice about the units.

Hope this helps... some info is better than none. I'd suggest you call Maurice for a status update, then post the results here for others.

BTW, I got one of the early units (pre manufacturer switch) and it is sweeeeet! :D

What's the difference w/ this unit vs the older Random Tech units he was selling?

I'm pretty sure the HF/HT cat is the same, it's the resonator muffler and piping that had to be re-sourced.

Here's what I got back from Maurice last Wednesday 7/14.

OK.
We had a problem where our supplier for the resonator we use ran out, and no ETA on more.
I now have a shop manufacturing the resonators for us, to our spec, and will have availability on completed midpipes in about a week from now.
Delay was not due to Cat, but because of the resonator muffler problem.

I have new programming for M that I can say I am finally satisfied with. We had some problems to solve, and that is now done with.
A reprogram is highly recommended for your unit.

Update: Spoke with Maurice today, and he says the first batch of the new resonators should be done by the end of this week or early next. This means late next week he'll probably be shipping, if not sooner.

Will this solve the problem of the extreme loudness w/ aftermarket exhaust ? If so I am in.

The way I see it is that there's nothing wrong with the standard muffler, so I'm just going to add some nice 4" tips to that, and couple this with my midpipe+cat (when I get it). I hope it is a little noisier tho. The standard sound is a little tame for me...

No, although the new resonator might tone it down a little bit. However, there is a fix: Check here.

off topic omicron: regarding the new updated maps for the m flash, I find that my current settings are working pretty well to my liking should I still get it updated or keep with the current maps? And if so whats the difference?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it IMHO. If you're happy with them, leave it be for now. Most of the updated maps I've seen have been to fix "problem" cars.

I spoke with Canzoomer yesterday evening, and apparently they are due to ship the new Mid-P-4 early next week. From what they told me, it is meant to be a little quieter than their previous product. Let's hope it is as free-flowing tho. :D And a little bit noisier.

I will post a review of it here when I get it on my car... :p

Update.

I have heard nothing since I spoke with Maurice. I guess they are still having problems.

It's a shame 'cause I was hoping to have received it by now... , but I'm sure it will be worth the wait...

The hold up has been with Random Tech. They ran out of resonators that were the right size. I ended up with one with the wrong resonator and had to send it back to be reworked. I received the reworked mid-pipe a couple of days ago and so I would think that they would now have parts to finish the rest of the orders. Hopefully you will have yours soon.

tokenbrit...do you have one of the CZ piggyback units as well, or are you going to be running the new cat/midpipe with the stock ECU tuning (or whatever updated flash you might have gotten)? Thanks.

Hey Scudrunner. At the moment, I am going to leave the standard ecu in place, and just run with the cat + midpipe + flywheel changes I have done.
The way I figure it is that there will be a more complete ecu overhaul when a good fi solution becomes available fot the 8, and I can wait till then. I think...
