Spoke to Canzoomer about unit

I talked to Maurice for a good while today about the stage 1 and his future direction.

First of all, let me say I am very impressed with his knowledge of the car.

He did tell me that right now, about 2 out of 3 out of the box CZ Stage 1 units are producing 10 - 25hp gain with no tuning.

He said he is concentrating on making it easier for the owner to tune the car and gave some good explanation of the way to tune the car. I was very impressed and am ordering the unit now.

I will say that it does sound like a pain to properly tune since the ECU is smart enough to adjust to any changes you make. It sounds like the key is making small changes at a time and test driving and then go back and retune.

Anyways, I don't have any earthshattering news here but I thought I would at least pass on the info about the success rate and future plans.

Don't plan on getting your unit anytime soon... I ordered mine almost 6 months ago as part of the group buy, and we finally got 25/34 ordered. So there are still 9 units destined for the group buy, and I if I do my math correctly, that means that they produce about 4-6 units per month. So be prepared to wait. And then wait... and then wait.

I guess I don't have much of a choice. Maurice said there is about a month backorder. I assume you are in the group buy so that makes it different.

When we placed the order for the group buy we were told it would take about 6-8 Weeks. So if you do the math (I love math)

Here is a little shell script I use to determine how long it will actually take to receive your unit

$ cat cz
#!/bin/sh
#
# Script to determine delivery time of CZ Stage 1 Unit
#
czr=425
if [ $1 != 0 ]; then
time=`expr $czr \* $1 / 100`
remt=`expr $czr \* $1 % 100`
echo "Number of weeks CZ said it would take to deliver a stage 1 unit = $1"
echo "Number of weeks you should EXPECT to wait for delivery = $time.$remt"
else
echo "Useage: $0 <number of weeks CZ said unit was on backorder>"
fi

ok so you paste this into a file (you have to use linux or have bourne shell installed on a windows machine and use sh <filename>)

Or you can take your calculator and multiply the number of weeks they told you by 4.25 and you have your answer. I was learning shell script at the time I wrote that, so it was um... an experience I guess.
