Cobb AcessPORT with TURBO Discussion
looks like I need to supply you with more Monster Java.. I figured you could use one for yesterdays mod meet.
I'm going to try the K&n map tube in place of the Greddy maf tube.
I'll let you know.

Ok, I don't know what the deal is but every time I try the AccessPORT I crash into a wall....
First was that nobody had my injector sizes, I had to be the guinea pig for this...
Then the MAF readings, required the 3.5" OD MAF housing, fixed with the DIY CAI...
Now the DWELL isn't enough for the MazSport Ignition Solution??? Seems like if you're turbo you need Int-X if you want to use MazSport's ignitions? Why can the Int-x do 3.50 dwell and the AccessPORT can't???

Did MazdaManiac or Scott@Mazsport tell you that you can't do 3.5 dwell in the AccessPORT? What makes you say that?
The problem is, the amount of dwell being called for at higher RPMs is longer than the total time available for spark duration.
The settings in your newest calibration were the settings recommended by Scott.
What exactly is the problem here guys?
Is the engine misfiring? If so what are the AFR's?
On the RX-8 we were running 3.75 at 380rwhp with our ignition system and I have run the dwell time well into the 4's in 650rwhp RX-7's applications.

Because the AccessPORT uses a factor, not a direct setting, you are having the dwell progressively increase as the RPMs increase.
The net dwell at 9000 RPM is probably somewhere in the 6ms range. You would have to scope it to know for sure since the values in the map are arbitrary.
First, i'm not FI, but i'd still like to say since i follow much of this as close as i can keep up....
Although it has been one small stumbling block after another with the AP and FI, they have been just that, small. I for one think that the refining process thus far with the AP is MUCH smoother/quicker/easier than it was with the Int-X or the EMU. I hope everyone doesnt get too fickle too quick with the AP just because the other options have been refined a little more already.
And i'm super glad to have Jeff and the other supporting people around to make these advancements for the rest of the community!

Well, the problems I've ran into is because I have modified my setup and it's no longer "stock" which requires re-tuning when you do any change, same as with the Int-X. I ran into the same problem with the INT-X when I upgraded the ignition, only difference is that I could change the map myself with the MICROTECH software and was able to fix it myself. But yeah, AccessPORT just came out and so far any problems that have come out have been resolved. I believe this is what we want/need in order to fix all the bugs. Me expecting it to work out of the box is not going to happen, that's why I will be switching back & forth until I get them both tuned. Not a good idea on a daily driver, but oh well!!
oh yeah, i feel ya on the fixing it yourself thing. hell i'd like to be able to play with my maps myself(although that would be a bad idea, lol)
luckily we have someone who is knowledgable and willing to hook us up and guide us until the idividual user software comes....
one of the things i'd like to see/do myself is adjust the throttle position sensor, maybe its just me, but i suck *** at driving this thing in rush hour traffic. i am so NOT smooth coming on and off the throttle in the first 5% or so change in position, whatever the first couple of steps are i'd like to make them smaller/more granular... whatever..

he buys random stuff for no apparent reason. I think he's narcoleptic and just falls asleep a lot, hitting random keys on the keyboard with his head, which in turn appears to the rest of us as him saying "dibs" in FS threads.
I wanted a top-mount turbo. Will soon have a GReddy turbo kit for sale with BOV, manual boost controller and CAI. If MM can't sell my turbo upgrade then it will have the GT3071R. It has the BLUE (yuck) eManage and wires for ignition as well.
