How long did you let it sit for? I let mine and my friend AJ sit for about one hour.

Ever since then though my car starts as if i just put the cleaner in it when it is cold. It runs much better and idles smoother but starts as if I just did the cleaning process and am starting it for the first time after. Any ideas?

I installed my BHR ignition while the cleaner sat in the car, I changed the spark plugs a few days later.
Did you change your oil after you did the seaform?

i dono but like i said the first time i did it maybe 30 secs of light smoke and i let it sit for an hour ( and thats after taking it around the twisties around here pretty fast to get her nice and warm), then the second time 20 seconds tops and even when i reved it like no smell or smoke like the first time. so if yours looked like that video i'd say no harm in doing it again, i have like 3 cans of the zoom power cleaner left though. i'm wondering if sea foam is a little stronger or something to get that thick smoke but who knows.

the smoke doesnt matter.

just do it properly, the only thing that matters is whats going on inside, DONT WORRY ABOUT SMOKE/NO SMOKE. IT DOES NOT MATTER.

figured id put that out there to end the discussion lol. but seriously, the more smoke = the more carbon, generally "sticky carbon" causes the smoke, chipped off "hard" carbon wont smoke, and clean motors won't smoke.

^How did you do it? I looked at the can in 3 sections. Put one into the gas tank one into the oil and the last of what was in the can I had AJ crank his car well the vac line sucked up the seaform. I pulled the vac line off the brake booster that Paul told me to use and when you crank the car it sucks seaform into the intake and down into the SSV Acuator <- I hope lol
So is that how you did it?

What amount of time would you guys suggest running the car at idle after using the cleaner if no additional oil is injected until the engine is properly lubed?

just keep the idle high enough to keep it running until it warms up. then I would rev it.

might as well spray the cleaner.. and in the hour you wait while it soaks.. change the spark plugs. they only take 15 min to swap out.

How do you know this?

Imo, if you put 8 oz of naptha and light oil into an exhaust system you are going to get great clouds of smoke, even on a brand-new engine. This is how sky-writing planes make smoke -- oil injection into the exhaust.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skywriting

For those who don't get smoke the only thing I can imagine is that the CAT is dead and not getting hot enough to volatilize the stuff.

And the explanation involving the sticky carbon vs the hard carbon chips seemed to make sense as a reason you would or wouldn't see smoke. Though I'm no engineer.
