You can also file every other tooth off the synchros so they mesh easier. They used to call those tranny's "Crash Boxes"

I dont think anyone will be doing that to there daily driver 8

OK -- alot has been posted about the CZ actually losing power and other performance mods like the midpipe and high flow cat, Borla, etc. adding a couple of HP but nothing substantial. I have always felt that my car was significantly quicker with the CZ and my other add-ons -- but of course no dyno to really prove any advantage over stock.

Well tonight on the way home from a baseball game I came upon a black 8 (not a member of our local club -- hope he checks out the board after seeing my rear plateholder :D but it might not have been in view long enough) -- we had a little fun and of course happened upon a private road (no street racing of course ). Well lets just say that after maybe 50 to 100 or so feet I simply ran away from the guy -- when the CZ really kicks in around 6k it is no contest from then on out. The shift at redline in first is faster and then 2nd gear just walks away from stock by the time the shift to 3rd comes there are several car lengths difference and the distance just keeps growing til you quit.

People can say all they want -- and maybe its true that some cars just don't take to the mods due to MAF issues, etc. -- but I have no doubt that mine are making the additional 30 to 40 whp gain.

I too feel it's that much stronger... but not until I tuned the map for my car. The discussion on these forums makes it clear that the CZ unit works well on most cars, but not on every one. Some additional tuning may be necessary if your car doesn't exactly match the majority.

Did you do the tuning yourself or did you go to a motor sports shop for this?

Can't see the vid!? Also, is CZ meant to be applied to an otherwise stock car?
