Stock vs Canzoomer comparison
Stock vs Canzoomer comparison
This is a little late but I did a video comparison between stock and the original Canzoomer Stage 1. At first glance it is hard to see a difference between the two videos but once they are overlaid the changes are very apparent.
I'll redo the video when I have the upgraded Stage 1 and M flash. My Stage 1 is currently in transit and I should have it back this week. I also have an appointment on Friday to get the car serviced and hopefully reflashed.

Hey I just checked my tracking info at FedEX and it looks like they delivered my upgraded Stage 1. I guess I'll be heading home for lunch today.
Now I just have to wait until Friday to get the ECU reflashed.

my10ae,
I had mentioned the Coastal Drive video and posted a link but it doesn't seem to be working any more. So I removed the reference to it to try to cut down on any confusion.

I'm not much of a 1/4 mile junkie so I don't think that I can answer that question. Sorry.
There have been a couple of guys who have recently taken their stock cars to the track to get a decent baseline and they are planning on going back once they get their Stage 1. So keep an eye out for those posts.

Dude.. I have to ask you a question.. (Speed Racer). Do you have any other modifications to your exhaust besides the Borla (Mid Pipe, Hi-Flow cat) anything else.. Your shifts are perfect!!!!!!!!! it's amazing. When I try and shift fast like that it feels as if my car is bogging a bit.... Whats your secret??
No, it was just the Borla but I do have a CZ-4 mid-pipe & Random Tech cat on order to get ready for Stage 2. :D
Hmm... one thing that I do differently is to only lift off slightly on the throttle when I want to shift quickly. This keeps the motor in its power band and keeps it from lugging when you release the clutch. As Strong Bad said, this can be done quicker, than what I have shown, but it will be at the risk of doing damage to the drivetrain. If you want to see some incredibly fast shifting check out a few of the Best Motoring videos. It appears that some of the drivers shift under full throttle!

It's called speed-shifting (full throttle). My dad did that in his '69 Dodge Coronet RT when it was new... Of course, he never told me about it until recently (I'm a bit afraid to try it @ 9k+ though...).

1/4 mile times - Maurice seems to cut 1 sec. or so off his 1/4 mile times (and I'm not riding with you again when you do them, Maurice!
. So stock he sees about 15 sec. runs and with the Stage 1 about 14 sec.
Speed shifting - if you are good enough you can shift without using the clutch. Expect to go through transmissions doing this! The syncros get in the way and can break. When racing "street cars" in street classes (no transmission change), they often remove the syncro rings, so they don't get in the way and don't break. If they break, the pieces can jam the transmission.

The last time I brought my car in for service the dealership said that they were having problems with their WDS and couldn't update my ECU that day. So I'll be bringing it back on Wednesday so that they can finish the job.
Once the car is reflashed I'll make a new video showing the differences between stock (M flash) and the CanZoomer Stage 1.

You can also file every other tooth off the synchros so they mesh easier. They used to call those tranny's "Crash Boxes"
