Nice Comparisson

This has been very helpfull, i am looking at installing a new exhaust to go along with me HKS intake in the spring, once my baby comes out of storage.. It's sad seeing her covered up in the garage all winter.

hey guys I have searched several threads and listened to several clips but I'm still trying to decide if I would like to buy the HKS Legamax or the AP exhaust I'm looking for something that is going to sound deep(not ricer) and that can give me the more hp(not too worried about it beeing street legal) so I would like to hear ur experiences with these exhausts
thanx

Cheers,

I still think the turbo xs exhaust is frickin awesome! The sound is deep and also kinda loud, but thats how I like it. Alot of people complain about the tips being to short and they are short. The length of these tips really make this exhaust almost look stock so when the police cruise behind me they can hear the exhaust, but don't know which car to yank

along with my earlier post i have another question. when putting a new exhaust on a STREET LEGAL rx8 if i were to do a universal HKS Hi-power can, would i need to install a new muffler as well or would it be built into that can?

well im kinda looking for the sound of a suburu STI, the deep throaty sound with enough decibles to blow out the eardrums with a 9000 Rev-out...which is why im leaning towards the hi-power pipe and wondering if its necessary to have a muffler if i bought just the carbon fiber pipe

want an aggressive deep sounding exhaust and look kinda some what stock from a cops perspective..? i went with rx7store's resonated midpipe, and tanabe's Ultra Medallion Exhaust (now thats a mean sounding ****,i hear it all the time from ppl) i just recently changed to hks hi-power exhaust only cuz i went turbo for piping size, its louder, but doesn't compare to the tanabe when comparing sound,im highly thinking about switching back to my tanabe, ill make a sound clip when i decide to go back..thats my 2 cents

I don't think there is a better sounding exhaust than the turbo xs header back the hks hi power is a good exhaust ,but I didn't really like the the sound of it on the 8. Go to youtube and listen to both of these exhausts on an 8.
