Thats my last dyno. My ECU hasn't even arrived at Racing Beat for the mod yet.

When I do my next dyno I will overlay the runs on one graph for an exact comparison of the change in AFR, HP, and TQ.

I'm also interested in the race flash but I don't want to cook my cat and O2 sensor. But there's no hope for passing emissions with aftermarket exhaust, a resonated test pipe and the RB race flash is there? Freakin emissions!!

What about a high-flow cat, like from Landpseed Racing? So then I still have a chance of passing emissions.

Is there anyone currently running a high flow cat, aftermarket exhaust and the reflash? If so, do you have a CEL.

This looks really tempting - I'll be saving up a few hundred depending on static's numbers, but then again, the extra cooling and higher redline still might make it worth it.

Which cat do you have? Do you have the flash or are you planning on getting it?

I have a very high end aftermarket cat from overseas, nothing you've ever heard of

I received a beta race flash for '05 RX-8s last Sept., they may have changed it since then, it's in the archives

I am wondering, now that the Racing Beat flash is readily available for different model years, is the consensus that using an E-Manage/Canzoomer no longer worth the investment (time to tune)?

I was/am under the impression that other than raising the RPM limit w/RB flash, a similar tune can be programmed via an E-manage, is this valid?

Thanks for input!
Edgardo

(Regarding the LTFT, searching says that tuning above a certain RPM (6500?) will alleviate the ECU from 'relearning'.)

You will always get the most power out of a car having the flash/reprogram done on your car. RB flash is built off of another cars base then givin to you for your car. I dont know if the differance in power is worth all the $ you'd waste on a custom program, and the risk of finding someone that could program the thing right, not just WoT.

I have racing flash (street version) on my car. I also have RX8store midpipe w/ resonator no CAT mate with Corksport exhaust, K&N drop in filter, Agency power pulley, Mazda Speed light weight fly wheel, Wedsport SA70 rims (17 lbs each) with Bridgestone RE050A size 245/40-17 and RP short shifter and let me tell you. The car runs very strong. Car pulls much harder from ~5000 RPM and up all the way to 9300 RPM. It is very addictive to just leave the rev around 5000 rpm and just scoot around. It just feel very quick. I normally don't do street racing but I had an encounter with a musta......... street racing story edited out to preserve remaining content, S ........ength and we shuted down. To make sure that it wasn't a fluke, we did it twice more with same result. Now your guy are going to flame me for street racing but I just want to tell you that these mods really do work. There is no flat spot on the top of the rpm. I have a 2004 model base model with sport package, 26 K miles and it runs perfect since day one doesn't matter how hot or how extremely cold it is. I lived in MN so you know it is really cold. As for running with midpipe, I have CEL after 13 miles of putting it on. It smells but you can feel the extra kick. Today I am putting on the RX8store exhaust after work. Corksport has 2.4 or 2.5" dia pipe. RX8Store is a 3" pipe and won't be as loud as the Corksport. I need a more quiet exhaust so my little girl can sit in the car with me and not crying in the back seat. So if you ask me if racing beat flash worth the cost? I would say yes, it is the best mod second to putting on light weight flywheel. I would rank pully third and intake/exhaust last.

The differance between a full tank of cheap gas and a full tank of 93 is about 2.50$-3$.

Question... when you say more quiet... how load is that combo now? Nasty loud or ok loud? ... just not for kids in the back seat. I know the Cork has a 3K resonance ... is that what you are talking about? I have the Cork too. I lined the trunk well w/sound deadener and it's not bad now, but does the midpipe change everything to make the Cork so much louder? Thinking about that midpipe...

Also why does the pipe size change the noise level? or is the RX8store exhaust bigger can(s) than the Corksport?

Hi Spin9K,
Well, I watched your video before I decided to get the Corksport exhaust for my car! That was about more than a year ago! It was a great exhaust. Sound really nice and is on the loud side. Yes it has that 3K resonance but it wasn't bad at all after I put dynamat in the trunk and under the rear seat. But midpipe make the exhaust really loud! How much louder? I can set off car alarms in my neighborhood just by drove by them and then rev the car in neutral or just accelerate hard by them. It is at least 100 dB. I had a friend of mine drove the car because I want to hear how it sounded like from the outside. I could hear him 4 blocks away! That was the night when we first put on the midpiple. It is 3" RX8store midpipe with resonance. The sound is a bit calmer now after some miles but still loud. It would be great on the track for sure. Sound awesome up top! Corksport is a 2.5" pipe, RX8Store is a 3" pipe. And from what I know it is more quiet than Corksport and since it has magnaflow muffler, it sounds very good also. I still keeping my Corksport just in case I don't like the RX8store exhaust. Only time will tell. But for now I need a calmer exhaust for my little girl so she won't get so scare of my car. With midpipe, it is loudest around 2-3200 rpm. and only loud at part throttle like driving up incline. I normally listen to radio volume 8-10 with stock CAT on. Now it is more like 10-14 depending on music. However, it is not loud during cruise below 4000 rpm. and still have that sweet wail that Corksport is known for. It was a difficult choice for me but I will give it a try with the new exhaust. Else I already have FATMAT and put that on the floor of the car to make it even more quiet. Will see...
