customer service aside, this is somewhat surprising. Considering the people who visit this site are a decent portion of their sales, you would think they would be a bit more on top of this, seeing as it's viewable to the public and clearly questions the quality of one of their products... I'm sure this will get sorted out but seems somewhat overdue.

 

I have to wonder if this is an attempt to make me blow up and toss around insults or something. I have no plans to do anything of the sort. I would just like resolution to the problem, or at this point, even being told what's preventing this from being looked at. An ETA on when it can be looked at would be good too.

Silence can sometimes be golden, but that isn't the case here.

I don't know him and I am a very non involved party.

However, Ive been around long enough on this innernet thing to understand that, someone who wants to do business on the internet, needs to be prepared for this.

Its public, it has a WIDE audience, people do business on here because of this, it also means you have a very public and wide audience when issues arise. There is no, hiding behind the counter.

If YOU (anyone out there) had made a 1000$ investement in a part that ended up not working and where stalled for months on end and given bs answers or just not given answers, what would YOU do ?

Think a little. I would definitely make it public. What other option do you have, its the only way to make things MOVE.

You decide to do business in public, you get to air your dirty laundry in public. Deal with it. If that means you need to adjust your priorities and make answering online accusations, or address issues that have been brought to the limelight of the internet priority numero UNO, then you DO IT, and FAST.

I'm sure he's a very nice guy and as all small shops that do business on the internet, he's just doing his best and is overwhelmed by the demand and business + this move etc... and most likely has no REAL idea what the hell is going on with the pump and is just trying to make sense of it all.

You cant hide from it. Just face it. Give the straight answer (truth).

If you know whats up. Tell it, even if it'll cost you money. The reputation loss is not worth the money saved.

If you don't know, say that too. Being honest is worth it every time in this case.

I have a few issues, and we're going to work through them. If there is one thing car modding as taught me, it's patience. I don't mind waiting if there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Just don't lie to me and tell me a deadline if there is no intent on keeping it.

Running like a champ at the one hour twenty five minute mark! We will continue to let it run on the bench!

 

I have spoken with the owner a few times now and since the car is running well with 5-10psi as indicated on the aftermarket pressure gauge, it's probably a gauge or wiring issue Conan.

 

Just disconnected the pump, at this time the pump is performing as expected with very consistent fuel pressure. We will perform more testing on Monday! Scott

What's the specs on the pump?

My problems were immediately cured by replacing this pump, and the filter was not clogged, so none of this answers anything yet.

 

I've gotten a few more PM's by people who have issues with this pump.

Scott, you really need to figure out what the deal is with it. This is not an isolated issue. Since you can't blame improper installation (you installed it yourself), deflecting blame to premix isn't a solution either since I've seen first hand that there is no clogging. Having the pump not provide enough fuel is a death blow to any engine, especially since this pump upgrade is aimed at FI vehicles.

I would recommend not selling the pump till the issues are resolved. This is a disservice to anyone interested in the well being of their vehicle.

 

Out of curiosity, have you tested it at higher ambient temps, and with the pump only partially submersed? If overheating is the issue, it's possible that the problem only occurs in a more harsh environment and/or when low on gasoline.

Also, what types of gasoline do you guys have over in Florida? Could it be that the problem only occurs when using E10 or something similar?

 

I used 93 octane. Back when I had most of the issues, we didn't have ethanol in the fuel (Unless they were including it without posting that it contained ethanol). When the issue was most severe, I did have the "up to 10% ethanol" fuel in the tank, but not by choice. All gas stations now have it posted here.

When I had FPR issues, Jim reported that the fuel pressure fell off immediately in boost right from the start. It didn't progressively get worse. The car did not hold fuel pressure under boost and leaned out. MySQL's problem doesn't sound similar.
