Possible issues from well known vendor's fuel pump upgrade. Mazsport
The pump removal was straight forward and took about 20 minutes. The copper hose was unplugged, and the T was removed, connecting the hose back to the manifold without it. Nothing else was altered.
Then the sock is what was swapped out the last time.
You'll have it Tuesday. Thanks.
It's very possible the pump or the fittings on my pump have been failing since they were installed.
It's one of those things where the car isn't working right, you fill up with gas, and the problem goes away for months. Hard to make an appointment, bring the car into the shop, and have a mechanic fix it when the problem cannot be replicated.
Let's reserve judgment and see what Scott does once he gets the pump in his hands. Remember, this was a $1,000 investment for me (Pump + Install), and I can't say that I had anything other than issues with it. So right now I'm not feeling too happy with what I got.

Team/Jedi, there have been at least 6 or 7 cases here on the forum where ppl have complained about apparent fuel pump issues after the upgrade.
Most of them were never paid attention to as they were wayward comments in mid-off-topic-threads... and coming from folks who wouldnt know their ******* from an alternator, hehe.
BUT there are a number of people who have had hiccups, its just hard to track them down if they arent frequent forum users, or if they dont have a clue as to what to report other than "the car is broke". And of course, tracking a problem that although very serious, appears only vaugely, is gonna be hard...

The financial end of this and the technical end are 2 completely different things. What happens financially on this is of secondary concern to most of us (aside from Mazsport and MySQL). Most of use would like to see if it's a defective vendor pump, a freak malfunction, or a design flaw in the system. It's kind of like if you found out your daily fred flinstone vitamins might have made some guy impotent. Sure, your junk works and the berry flavors are delicious, but it would be nice to see the end results of that for piece of mind.
What part is the carrier? The housing itself should not be cracked or anything.
However, the top part of the pump unit had a nozzle that sticks out of the lid, and that part had snapped off during the uninstall. So if that's what you're looking at, then yes it would have some damage. The rest of the housing, lines, pump, etc, would be exactly as it was when removed from the vehicle.

It doesn't, but if he plans to RMA the pump or something, and needs a functional OEM housing, I can make sure he has the top part with a functional nipple. Just saying this so that it's clear it's a non issue and can be taken care of.
ok, I think this thread deserves a bump
the guy that bought the car from me says the FPR on the fuel pump apparently is making it do very irratic ****, even at idle
I don't know how the hell to explain this, but this cannot be good in anyway, it's only a matter of time until this pump becomes jason #2
