Having a look at the fuel pump sock, I think would be the cheapest thing to do first?

my fuel pump crap out on me b4.
when I try to go fast with rapid acceleration I got constant hesitation
Changed pump problem is gone.
Ahh crap this thread reminds me of the fuel filter. I ran out of patience taking out the pump so I smash my pump into pieces with a hammer. but I kept the filter. I keep forgetting to take pictures of it. Damn, do it tomorrow morning.
The filter has no slimy stuff on it, not sure if the stock/new looks the same. Its dark color.

Personally, I'd rather see the pump failing as the cause than the pump clogging.
If it's failing, then there's a hardware defect that can be resolved under warranty.
If it is clogging, then the pump is clearly much more sensitive than the stock one, and can clog in 3 weeks with stuff that never had an issue in the OEM one for 2 years. Even after replacing the filter and stopping premix, it still clogged.
One thing is sure, there's a number of people with issues with this pump. By Scott's own admission, he's got a laundry list of premixes he thinks clogs the pump. So regardless of the cause, this upgrade is problematic.
Scott's offered to warranty the pump. I can mail it to him, but he's not responding to me anymore, so I don't know what the deal is.

Not trying to be argumentative here at all, just offering an idea...
Were you the one that had talked openly on the forum about suing a vendor? If that is the case, and he suspects he is the target, he may be reluctant to respond for legal reasons.

What legal reason would prevent him from replying when he already made the offer to warranty the pump?
Before anyone starts to think I'm a big anti-mazsport guy, you only have to look at my purchases and past posts to see I've been a big supporter of theirs for a long time. I bought the cooling fan mod, the int-x, their fuel pump, they've worked on my car many times. Street tuning, dyno tuning, turbo work, even some maintenance stuff. I've also gone out of my way to make sure people do not unjustly bash them, such as the stick situation where stick generated alternate usernames to badmouth them. I have no problem with someone talking about problem situations against a vendor, but if they make up fake accounts to talk about them, then it's an issue.
I would not be complaining unless I have a legitimate claim. Even when I had problems with this pump in the past, I said nothing here on the forum because Scott was taking care of me. I always allow the vendor to correct issues.
For this thread, it was more about me trying to get to the bottom of this, as I cannot afford to continue running with this pump if it's the cause of the vehicle randomly acting like i'm out of fuel. I need input from others as I've gotten no where with this. Any warranty issue with the pump is secondary as far as I'm concerned.

Why couldn't you just buy a bosch 044/0400 or some thing like those, the bosch 044 would pump more than fuel than the rx8 would need?? and these are cheap.

as I said, I don't think anyone puts a 1 way check valve on the FPR line -_- but I am still having problems which I really don't understand why,

I would going to another sourch, I haven't had my pump out, and I so really don't know the set up, But if its a in tank pump like the earlyer Rx7's, I would be looking at a Bosch or some thing like that, and even if I had to do a bit of Modding (which is what I had To do to get the pump I ran with The 20b) . Coz it sounds like your getting sold (and don't quote me on this ) cheap China knock off pumps. I've had bad problems with China made goods, like I say about the Warehouse (new zealand K-mark?) Buy on Monday take Back Friday.
Do these pumps have a brand name on them??

Madness, Has any one got some type of test these people can use to check the pump, eg like a stall test, must be some from of test/chechs that can be done to find weather it the pump or FPR or lines or what ever????

how did all of you add the premix? how many types did you use?
i just when through the same thing. new fuel pump sock gunked up.
am sure it was the different types of mix i tried 40 k miles ago. still in the tank..
i am now adding premix to a liter bottle with gas, making sure it is mixed then dumping into the tank at half full.
btw,, with the new pump that had 8 k miles on it. i was getting the same shut off problems on a long / 140 mile cruise.
and on track. i was getting the left hand corner problem at 3/4 tank full..
so far after sock cleaning all is well. cant state about the track yet.

I would dump it in, then fill up the tank of gas.
My premix of choice is 4 oz of idemitsu, and 2 oz of FP+ (New version of FP60).
AFAIK, both are designed to work in the fuel system.
