from what i've read on some technical files, porting the renisis is worthless.

here's proof from the forum's resident expert:

yup, not really a worthwhile option for the Renisis.

Not really worth while to tear down an engine to port it but if it's already down, it would then be a viable performance gain. Ray is trying to find time to do mine while it's down.

Thank you for your service to America and make sure to spend your money on mods for the RX-8 that have better value. I can help you with that, BTW.

p.s. It was MY sideplates Rotarygod ported when I rebuilt my engine.
eeks. he's a marine, and he'd probably rather be called a marine. soldiers are in the army, like me! one of those strange military things... but i'm sure rj gets it.

second thing is i read that whole thread on your plates getting ported about four months ago. it was one of the most wicked threads. definitely excellent write up by rotarygod! i recommend it for anyone who has a technical bone in their body:

There is NO room for a Bridge Port in the Renesis. There really isn't any room for any enlargment of the exsisting port period. Mazda has made them large already. All you can do is clean up a few little imperfections and thats about it. That's about all I'm doing with Phils engine.
