Improve acceleration

Please recommend a cheap solution to improve acceleration, especially on the first gear, without greatly affecting fuel consumption.

lightweight flywheel will definitely impact 1st. only ~$300 if you can do it yourself.

ok, first and second gears which make the rx8 slow at the low revs.
I have seen this lightweight flywheel but since I don't have a lot of technical knowledge, could you explain what this is and where can be found?

You can build up some serious speed by combining one of these with your rx-8:

17" wheels, then sell your 18's, would probably be the easiest/cheapest thing to do, and can give you the same effect as going to a 4.77 gear

andreasy,

Something that is cheap, increase acceleration, AND not increase fuel consumption.

That is IMPOSSIBLE for ANY car.

For the Rx-8 cheap is impossible.

You can get a Greddy Turbocharger for around $3,000. (That's in US Dollars, not sure which country you are in)

That's the cheapest most effective thing you can do.

If you want a drag race car, the Rx-8 ISN'T it. Sell it and buy a US car.

If you dont even know what a flywheel is, u shouldnt even try to ask about how to make ur car go faster.

You have alot to learn.

and Search is ur friend. Go do a search, google or here.

I am sorry if you got offended my friend but that´s why I asked for "cheap and simple" solution and I leave the more sofisticated solutions to you. If you read my question, I asked how to improve acceleration not how to build the fastest racing car. I don´t even care about such a think and I don´t have the knowledge.

Thanks for all the info.

Steep hills, they are free too. Also, you could try putting your head out the window facing backwards and blowing really hard. Mazda might void your warranty for that one though.

The reason people are getting annoyed at you is that ever day or three we get someone who signs up and their first post is something along the lines of yours.

In fact. I looking at MOST of your posts, and they ALL seem to be STARTING threads with questions that have been ANSWERED many, many times. You need to start looking and searching through old posts for answers.

Common etiquette when joining a message board is to "lurk" for at least a week if not a month or more. Lurking is reading but not posting. You have done the opposite.

So STOP STARTING NEW THREADS to ask basic questions. You are on the road to a heavy flaming on a flame happy board. I'm amazed you have been treated so nicely so far.
