Identifying an exhaust

so my dealership just told me i don't have the stock exhaust and that's it's an aftermarket cat back. i bought the car used so how do i figure out which one it is?

yeah, i will, but it's at the dealership still. if there's any way to check i'll make them do it while it's there.

they would have stamped lettering on them or the manufactures emblems as well,hope it helps,,look for color or finish,that may help too..

if that's aftermarket, it looks pretty damn similar to the oem exhaust.

that's what i said man. i told them i didn't have one and they said they were sure it wasn't mazda. they have lots of rx8s, so i don't know what their deal is..

maybe i should sell my "aftermarket" exhaust to them..

wow your mazda dealer fails.. i wouldn't trust them with my car.

Yes that is an OEM exhaust. Run away from that dealer!!!

Either way what is their point?

BTW University Mazda and Lee Johnson are good dealers in our area. Where are you taking it?

they told me it was the ship foreman that said so.. i tried to track him down to see what he was talking about, but he was nowhere to be found..

i'll try again next week i guess.

i took it in to get my tires mounted on new wheels and take a look at my intake. the tech just noticed my "aftermarket exhaust and commented on it numerous times. i've been trying to figure out what he thinks is not stock, but with no luck so far

You don't have a midpipe do you? Because that would make it louder..and not sound like stock...If not, that guy is just an idiot.

Its a limited edition Pre-Rusted OEM exhaust, thats why they couldnt recognize it!

Lee Johnson has Kristopher_d's car right now for an engine replacement. Its a VR '04. It has the stock exhaust have them peak at his and see what they say...:/
