Surprise aftermarket cat-back exhaust

so my car is at lj mazda getting a check up since i felt i had lost some power on the low end after my cai install. they looked into it and did all the tests and said everything came back perfect. scott and gary drove it and said it was one of the fastest 8s they'd driven! they wanted to know what i did to it besides a grounding kit, intake, and exhaust. i told him i don't have an exhaust but he assures me i do. apparently it's not mazda and i have a new exhaust that i didn't even know about! now, how do i figure out what it is??

oh, and the loss on the low end is just because of the intake i guess. you have to keep the rpms up to get the performance out of it.

Also you could crawl under the car to see if there is some form of identification.

You would think that a Mazda dealer could identify that. Well, maybe not. Mine couldn't identify my MS lightweight flywheel.

dondo, what CAI did you install?

the ms exhaust says mazdaspeed on the tips and mine doesn't. i still think it's stock, but they said it wasn't mazda so who knows..

i asked how you can identify it in the performance section and they seem to think it's stock too..

we don't seem to think. it's obvious. go back to them and park next to a stock 8 and ask them what makes them different. lol or don't go back to them cuz they may start saying you have other aftermarket parts and void your warranty. haha

You heard it before and you'll hear it again.......

that is the stock exhaust.

I'm actually suprised that Scott at LJ Mazda said that he cannot recognize that exhaust.

Me too. Scott recently sold his FD, so he's not a rotary guber like most service writers. There must be something else in the exhaust that's making it sound different.

Yo dondo i have my stock exhaust sittin at my house and it looks exactly like your pics. Maybe the headers??? So since the last time we talked I have noticed a small lose of power in the lower RPMs since i had my AEM CAI, but the higher4-7 RPM has a nice increase in power. Plus the new Greddy sp2 exhaust sounds great.
