As far as I know, the only way an intake can make more power is:
1- Being less restrictive then the stock intake which will alow more air to enter the engine.
2- Tricks the ECU by haveing a large MAF tube, causing the vehicle to run lean and mean.
3- Lower the AIT, cooler air, more dense = more power.

Why it wont work with the RX8

1- The stock box flows enough air.
2- The ecu learns and adds fuel, takes a few drive cycles.
3- The stock box pulls in outside air and does a good job of insulating, adding a air duct like the racing beat with the stock box works as good as anything else.

I dont know how they can get more air into the engine then the engine wants? If you cant get more air in, you wont make more power.

Maybe injen knows something nobody else knows and they realy made some 20HP but until someone buys the intake and has it dyno tested before and afterwards, no one is going to believe it.

Again, 9500 RPM???? Tunning????

I have tested a bunch of them on my own car and the RB worked the best for me so far. I am going to test the Injen for the hell of it. I have one ordered and will see how it compares. The Speedsource cars are REQUIRED to run the stock intake and the hp they make is mainly thanks to MoTeC fuel injection and knowing how to tune.
My car has not been dynoed in a couple of years but nothing has changed, it still hauls *** and will most likely throw down the same 200-205 that it always has.
I will have very little tied up in the Injen so I plan to test b4 and after the RB intake. My only concern is that it not be loud like the filter on a stick. I have not been on this forum in a long time and most likely won't be until I get the thing in and try it so sit tight and be patient as I am old am not taking any ADD meds so I am easily distracted.

No race pipe. The numbers are with a stock cat and are posted in here somewhere and i have the file on my computer at work. Looks like the intake won't arrive for a couple weeks from what the distributor told me. I am not holding my breath on seeing anything but it'll be fun to play with. If it works, does not lose power, and is not loud I will keep it.

Whenever someone gets one of these, post a video clip, as well as a dyno sheet compared to stock, if possible. If the gains are better than all the other intakes and it sounds good, I may sell my Mazdaspeed intake and get this one.
