i was wondering if any of you guys with the AEM use the sock like cover over the filter to keep the filter clean from dirt and stuff. Every time i see someone post a picture of the aem it never has that cover over the filter. Does this restrict the ammount of air getting into the filter?
Also, is it possible to get to the AEM filter without taking off the bumper to clean the filter and or clean the sock cover? Im sure this filter will get dirty pretty fast since it is very exposed. How do you guys with the AEM clean your filters?

I do not use the sock personally, though I doubt it would restrict much more, if at all. I just don't care enough to put it on.
If you remove the plastic under tray partially, or fully, I'm sure it will make the filter accessible without removing the bumper.
I have not had to clean my filter yet, haven't had it on long enough. AEM has cleaning instructions, and video, on their site. Says to fill a bucket with water and "AEM Filter Cleaning Solution," dip the filter in without letting water get into the filter neck, let it soak for 10 minutes, after 10 minutes rotate the filter around to get the junk to come off, empty bucket, repeat 2-4 times with new solution/water, refill bucket with clean water and NO solution to remove any solution left on the filter, shake off water and let the filter air dry, do not add any oil to filter, reinstall once dry.
