Cheap place to get the AEM
Hard to tell from the vid...Exactly how loud is this intake. Is it only loud when your are jumping on it? What does it sound like cruising on the highway? Can anyone compare the sound to other intakes (i.e. K&N, Revi, etc).

Eventually I'll find some stuff somewhere, build my system, and sell the AEM depending on how it performs.
well you are right and wrong. there is not problem with the filter of the aem getting wet. now if the aem filter was submerged in standing water as you were driving, then there would be real problems. but then again, if you drove through that much water, you deserve what you get.
I understand what you guys are saying
im just saying the filter sits in plain view and when you wash your car with a hose you may get the filter very wet
that cant be the same as having a stock intake and driving over a puddle

how about the AEM intake in states where they put alot of salt on the roads due to snow. I know I live in albany and it seems that i cannot keep my car clean for longer than two days. The front just looks like a lot of built up salt.

that is all
that is all
1. It's hard to drive in deep enough water to submerge the AEM cai, it's like 1.5 feet off the ground.
2. Rotaries do not hydrolock as easily as piston engines, yes it is possible but harder. Research the "water treatment" or "water trick" on rx7club to see people purposefully injecting large amounts of water into the engine in order to steam clean the internals.
3. How can washing your car cause engouh, if ANY, water to travel up the pipe? Even if you spray it directly, soaking it, and then went and turned your car on how do you expect it to go up? With air traveling through as well, water will NOT travel uphill! Water travels downhill, where the least resistant path lies. Unless the filter is submerged, none, or a very negligible amount, will go into the intake all the way to the TB, and that's only if you REALLY soak it and the imediately start the car up.
