um, thats not a "water cover". its actually a cover to help keep the filter clean. ie, instead of bugs and such getting stuck to the filter, the get stuck to the cover, so you pull the cover off every so often and wash it, and replace.

If you are mechanically inclined, its about a 2. If you aren't, it's about an 8. A quick reference for mechanically inclined is, if you REQUIRE someone else to put your exhaust on for you, not having someone do it because you are lazy but having them do it because you truly cannot, then you will probably have issues, just keep that in mind.

Intake does NOT make exhaust louder. It will make your intake sound louder but has nothing to do with exhaust note. The AEM at WOT in low gear screams like nuts, I was amazed how loud it was. Somewhat annoying after a while, but at low throttle its not bad at all, only WOT.

Basic hand tools are needed, you have to remove the front bumper, and the instructions are fairly good. You'll also need one vacuum cap.

Like I said it is only loud at WOT... so unless you drive retardedly you wont notice most the time, especially with any kind of music or radio on.

A silicone or rubber cap that goes over a vacuum nipple to plug/block it. The air duct in the stock intake piping before the filter is eliminated with the AEM intake, so you need to cap the nipple that system hooks up to. Otherwise you'll have a vac leak.

Any auto parts store will carry them in silicone and rubber most likely. Get silicone. I did not receive a vacuum cap in my kit but maybe it was a mistake, who knows. It was in the instructions to put one on, though.

No, you're thinking of the stupid filter sock/cover. I'm talking about a VACUUM cap, it is to PLUG a nipple on the intake manifold that is normally feeding the VFAD thing to tell it when to open in the stock intake system. This is removed when you install the CAI and you need to cap that nipple.

Seriously, just think about it! Where do you get common car parts from? An auto parts store! Any you can think of, schucks/checkers/parts america/etc, napa, any local store most likely. These are very common things, I've bought tons of containers of these over the years for various projects and customer cars.

Maybe they do and mine was missing, or maybe they don't. Does it really matter that much? It's not a huge deal to take a drive to the auto parts store and spend a dollar or two on a container of 5-10 of them.

The size is like 2.7mm or 3.2mm, somewhere around there. There should be caps in the 3mm range. I just grabbed one that fit from my many containers of them. Just make sure its tight and doesn't slide off or anything. If you're really paranoid you can use a small ziptie to hold it on also, lots of boosted application cars actually do this for all of their vacuum lines and caps since their system is pressurized.

It's one of the last steps in the instructions. It has small pictures for every step but you should be able to find it. Since you have to take the vacuum line OFF the intake manifold in the first place, you'll know where the nipple is that you need to cap, or at least should.

If you really want I can snap a pic sometime of where this cap goes.

Generally rotaries do not hydrolock nearly as often or as easily as pistons, but they still can yes. Just very difficult, and if you're dumb enough to drive through something actually deep enough to completely submerg the filter, well then you deserve it.

Here are some pics of the nipple that I capped (blue silicone vac cap). I took a few from various angles/distances so hopefully you can figure out where this is located.

Stock a line is connected to it that runs to the ducting for the intake. It opens a little flapper to extend the intake length or whatever. Should be kinda obvious from when you removing stuff, it runs all along the stock box.
