How long do you plan on owning this car? There are several companies developing some promising turbo systems which will offer a substantial increase in power. Also, they're some people developing some 20b 3-rotor conversions which are a bit more expensive, but allow for power output that is on a whole new level. It really depends on how quickly you need this car to be everything you want it to be.

If all you're looking is horsepower, this might not be the best car for you. The RX-8 is more of a 'momentum vehicle'; great cornering, braking, and 9,000 redline.

The turbo systems are a good option but you'll void your warranty and you better be prepared to put in some good wrench time. (as with all tubos I guess)

Why did you buy the 350 in the first place? Why are you thinking of getting rid of it?

Rx8 is a great car, but the z is a good car also. The biggest question is why your getting rid of the z, because ithe rx8 could very give you the same problems.

Well I bought mine because I LOVED rotaries and sports cars. I feel the RX8 makes a great sports car and fits my circumstances.

If you don't REALLY love it then you it's not for you. Go drive, read this forum a little, and see what you come up with.

Otherwise you won't want to keep it.

Honestly, what about a Mustang GT?

If hp is your main concern, and I'm taking that it is, there's no better bang for the buck and it's engine can be boosted to put out more than a 350Z. With what is actually available on the market right now, the 8 will be a definite challenge to get it to where you want to be.

i drove the rx8 today i was not to happy with the response cause i guess i was used to the speed of the 350z but the enterior kicked the 350z ***. witch is big since i hate that i cant lean back in my car. for now i am gonna finish building the rx7 and drive that as my daily driver when i sell the 350z. wait a few months when more boost options have come out for both cars and then make a more sound decision. so for now ill just play it cool with the 7. thanks for all your comments and in the future ill be sure to let everyone know what i decided.

Cool

9 months ago I had one 240z, one 280zxna and one 280zxt (was going to swap the turbo into the 240z). I drove the 350z and it was the car. Drove the Rx8 later that night and ending up buying the Rx8. In end it came down to the interior, exterior styling (front end of 350z sux), high rpms, 4 seats and the fact that I don't see them all over the road. The "8" is just a damn cool car, period!

I think there both great fun cars and I honestly think the Rx-8 is a really fun car. I think you should test drive the Rx-8 first and see how it compares to your 350z.

Good Luck!
