Stuck in a love triangle
With all those mods on that car it's hard to tell just how much the 4.77 final drive has contributed, but did you notice from 10:27 - 10:37 of the video how much faster the tachometer jumps from 4000 to 5000 to 6000 and so on?
This is also shown again around 11:13 or so.

I got the flu for Christmas and I had to cancel my vacation to Hawaii next week. When it rains, it pours. As soon as I can stand without coughing up a lung, I'll be installing the ring and pinion.

experience transmission mechanic, not a DIY
the service manual for torque specs
a press to pull off/seat the bearings
side seals and companion flange seal (if they are old, possible reuse)
silicone sealant
magnetic dial gauge to measure backlash
tooth marking compound
caliper and ruler to measure pinion height (possibly a few spacers)
shim kit
engine stand
locknut
2 qt. GL-5 gear oil
PS The NyQuil is hitting me hard now, very sleepy, goodnight folks...
