Ouch, picked a bad one. That's my 11th wedding anniversary - got a place confirmed on the beach for the weekend.
My personal rule is that you can sense the begining of spring at the ides of March around here (March 15th for you Shakespearean illiterates
) how about mid to late March? Or if that seems too far away, uh, dunno... I could always just miss the first one, I'll understand

Yep. That's a good one for me. Actually, I think any weekend other then 2/24 is good for me, so... okay, now, where? This relatively cold weather makes it tough to plan anything outside. Frankie's Fun Park is a favorite of the RX-7 group, but, at least half of that fun is outside. Might want to think-up something else, save that one for springtime. My mind is drawing a blank right now, might be cuz I need some shuteye...
Cool
How bout you Tigerfootball, t-run/8, Finneli, and WantedTwo? Anybody else able to make it out on Sat. March 3rd?
Racer X-8 (man I need to learn everyones real name lol), I'm sure we can still find some things to do indoors at Frankies. There's always the Comedy House Theatre or Hooters for a little later on.

Lets keep it family-freindly, at least the main event stuff. I basically don't drink, although I do like a Samuel Adams or Admiral Steamer or Guiness every now and then, and it would be nice to bring the wifey and maybe a 16 year old son. And, we gotta all drive home.
The RX-7 club usually chooses a restaurant to meet at first. That helps break the ice, gives everybody time to greet and get better aquainted/familiar as to faces, names, who is in the group. Also gives the late arrivals a time cusion to catch-up with the group. When we move over to Frankie's, the group can get kinda scattered-up.

Thats cool about keeping it family friendly.....my girlfriend may be coming along and she doesn't drink either
So let me get this straight.....we meet up at a restaurant, grab a bite to eat, chat and get aquainted, then head over to Frankies.......sounds good.

Mcalister's Deli is always a good place to pick up a good bite to eat for lunch
On a side note, one of my co-worker's spouse just bought a '05 Black Cherry Shinka yesterday....I'm working on getting him to come to the meet as well

Sweet, I got it to fit 8 per sheet in word.
I was surprised this morning by a yellow 8 that got right behind me. It was a she. She turned into one of the entrances for Invista (used to be Dupont) here in Lugoff. I'll pull in there after work to see if I can find it still parked there... a yellow 8 is visible for miles hehehe.

if you guys look at rx8club.net for maybe a template... we basically did the same thing (they i should say since i am sorta new) and we have large meets all the time a lot of fun... and well we should have the huge rx8 meet this spring again... i think it was the largest rotary meet on the east coast... we have a good amount of pull... i will keep you guys updated on that
not me. but i will be in Spartanburg this coming Friday for a concert at Ground Zero: In This Moment, Walls of Jericho, 36 Crazyfists, Dead to Fall, and Kittie. its going to be a good one. i will be in my 8, so if anyone sees a blue 8 with tinted windows and Clemson tags, thats me.
Don't get pissy just hear me out...... Have you ever seen the beer comm where a group of guys are hanging out and one guy saids something kinda not cool or does something not cool and a giant beer can crushes him. well thats what I feel like every time a group of RX8 owners start planning to meet and then one guy saids "hey im gonna bring my kids and wife" grrrrr "why!" i think. dont get me wrong I love my fiancee and I also like my car. But when I think of a group of guys who work on cars and try and build fast RX8's...I mean uhhh. what im trying to say is um well..... when you work on your car with ur buds (if u do) and your having a beer talking to ur buds I dont want my lady around. Its man time, time for me to get a break for the day to day grind and hang with my car buds. why is it that we are going to um yhea FRANKIES FUN PARK!! How old are you guys lol. car club fun doesnt sound to coo when @ the end of the night I see myself with 100 jackass kids around me while im wacky a weazel @ a fun park. how about we come to a middle ground. bring the wife or GF thats fine but get a baby sitter. Lets go downtown to some pubs and get to know each other over a brew. so yhea sorry if I sound jadded but I have gone to one to many boring G rated car meets and its boring sorry. Hell I can say **** once ands its still rated PG-13 lol. so dont get mad or pissy im just making a suggestion. and guys look out for the falling beer cans lol.
BUMP
I kinda agree with SRIBMK on the boring meets....I've been to more than enough myself. I'll be going out later that night if anyone is sticking around....I think its a bad idea for those traveling out of town to participate in any drinking festivities though.
Anyway, this meet is still going to happen. We gotta start somewhere. I'm looking forward to meeting whoever can make it out.
Keep hope alive!

Somebody come up with a different place - I didn't want Frankie's anyway, especially not while it's still cold in the evenings.
If this turns into a night of bar-hopping though, I'll come alone for sure, if I come at all. For 1 or 2 and that's it, but only if it's close enough and if the place is interesting enough. I don't go out just to do some drinking - I stopped that when I finally grew up. So, my attendance would be a big IF, and actually, honestly, probably not.
I'm not being pissy about it, it's just that my idea of fun does NOT include getting shitfaced. We have different lifestyles.
