What's up all? I've seen a lot of RX8's around the Greenville area lately. I took a drive through Paris Mountain this weekend in the Speed 3 and it reminded me of my rotary days. If anyone sees me out in my Dark Blue Speed 3 give me a honk and lets find some twisties!

hello everyone :] I live in the pawley's island, myrtle, georgetown area.. and I work at a locally owned coffee shop and our owner and I love cars, and spooorrrts cars. sooo We decided to try to extend the invitation to a few of the clubs in the area of cars we love. the first in mind was the RX series. SO! if we can get a good number of people together, why not come meet up in our generous parking lots here and get some good coffees, ya?! If the mods dont mind i'll post a pic of our parking lot >_> if they do, i can take it down. but yeah, let's see if we can get some interest. We'd LOVE to see you guys and gals come on down! if we can get enough drivers, we can organize it through facebook or something ya?

Charleston here. For the record though I don't meet in mall parking lots with high school kids. I do go to most Charleston area autocrosses and almost all the buccaneer region Hutchinson island ones in Savannah. I can also be found at the cmp LeMons races (different car obviously). I do my own maintenance and am usually up for group stuff of those natures. Or other things, but no teenage parking lot stuff. I'm well under 30 but that **** is stupid.

 

cool we gotta meet up some time. i want to try to do some autocross but dunno where. the car scene here in beaufort sucks. most of the import guys are ricers and the muscle car guys hate imports lol. ido do the whole parking lot meet ups but they dont have any here that i know off. I used to go to the ones in cali. some where cool with cool ppl and some where stupid and filled with teens and there hondas with neons and a fart can. you just have to find the right one with the right ppl.

I think theres a car meet in savannah, i just dont know the days. theres also one in charleston on saturdays. its only a couple of ppl. i might go tomorrow but im not sure yet

 

There's an autocross in savannah on hutchinson island on the 27th. Google buccaneer region autocross and sign up. My car is a c stock car but I don't bother with race tires down there so I run in stx with no mods. Come do stx as well as long as you're not overprepared and compete against me. You'll have an advantage in that I haven't even seen my car since the last autocross. Been out of town since the day after the last one and I get home the day before the 27th. The surface there is really nice, they setup long (always over 50-55 sec) courses and usually only eenough ppl for 2 run groups, so 6+ runs and still done by 2-3pm. Btw paying online is 5$ cheaper than day of. Do it.

 

Lexington... I've seen a few other 8's running around here also some z's. From the looks of the forum there are no meets in the Cola/Lexington area. If anyone has some suggestions on locations I would be more than willing to organize an event.

Theres a meet on saturdays at 930pm in savannah. And 930 in charleston. Been to the savannah one. its ok. I wanna check out the charleston one just dont know when ima go.

Seriously... sign up for the savannah/hutchinson buccanneer region autocross. I'm going to as soon as I get on a real pc. I've been in seattle for over a month so my car probably be pretty dusty but ill be there, bone stock, but running STX for fun. Its this Sunday and the surface there is great. They also use 2 colors of cones to make it easier for new ppl. Pay online = 5$ cheaper too.

25$ I think. Maybe 20 or 30. I usually don't have too much to do to the car so I get there by 9. People get there as early as 7. If you want to do it, don't be later than 930. Don't just show up and watch. Just read the FAQ and sign up and do it. WWW.goaheadtakethewheel.com if you want to read more detail about What goes on, but its not scary, and its not a big deal. Do it.

 

In case you get this. I saw a bunch of you signed up for CS.
If you're not using race tires, the PAX is actually better in STX.
I am bone stock and run in STX. Closer competition when everyone is on street tires. When you go to sign in, even if you paid, just ask em to switch you to STX.

 

i also would like to check out the charleston scene. where is it normally at?

 

I called my brother who lives there and he said there are a few places people meet up. I remember him saying something about a decent size meet being by a K-Mart or some such store. Also, is anyone planning on attending the drift competition being held on April 17th @ Myrtle Beach speedway? More info on their site myrtlebeachspeedway.com

 

Sumter area! A friend and I are trying to get a group together in Wesmark Plaza parking lot. We have been meeting there for a few weeks now on random days of the week and the police hasn't give us any problems. We may be out there tommorrow depending on my sched with work. Any type of car is welcome. Sofar we have an RX8 and a Honda. We arent racing or getting drunk just hangin out and shootin the $%!^. I personaly want to meet some other 8 drivers. I will post next time or if you want a PM for when we are out there send me one and I will send a message the next time we are heading out.
