You guys be very safe in your travels, and watch out, the cops in SC are ruthless during the winter months.

Hey STF - It'll be good to see you! I am glad you are coming out even if it is just to watch. I hope you can drive the RA event in March. You know that track is calling your name...

As for departing on Friday - I have to work until 11:30 or 12:00. I may just have all my stuff with me and head over to pick up L8 then get on the road. I plan on leaving work a bit early today so I can clean up the car and get packed up. I am trying to decide whether I should drive to the track on my track tires or carry them in the back seat. I'll measure tread depth tonight to make that final determination.

The schedule is posted in case y'all didn't see it. 4 sessions on Sat and 5 on Sun means plenty of track time for everyone. We'll see if I get 1 or 2 students. I don't mind having 2. The more time I spend on track, the better driver and instructor I become. The life of a ho - I love it!

I did the final check-ups on the Stallion last night to make sure everything is tight and ready to go.

Unless I get tied-up for work I am planning on leaving at the same time as TA/L8 and go up together.

I am also looking forward to finally meeting STF in person too.

I'm going to pack the truck up this morn and hopefully be on the road by 9:30. Have a safe trip everyone. If you pass a red dodge truck pulling a black RX-7 on I-20, it's me. Honk and say hello!

awesome.

and on another side note, it looks like the chances of rain are gone.

gonna be cold, but I can live with that, standing around in the cold, AND rain would have been pretty miserable.

Hi fellow track hoes!

Greetings from sunny but cold as the damn dickens Kershaw SC! I am sitting in the hotel lobby using one of the guest terminals for a quick update. I'll do a detailed account when I am back home. Right now I need a shower but L8 is in it and although I like the guy, I can wait.

Everyone in our group is having a great time. Today was terrific and we all look forward to tomorrow. It was great to meet OnRails. I think he will make a fine addition to this group of junkies. I have 2 students - an S2000 and a Cooper S. The S2000 is awesome. It sounds incredible. Just damn what a sound and my student was driving it well. At theend of today I got him braking harder and deeper than he was and and accellerating all the way until he had to brake. Good times

The fuel pump replacement seemed to do the trick. I ran 3 sessions on 1 tank and had no issues. I got it down to a little over a quarter tank. I think I could have done my 4th session but I don't want to run the tank too far down. We are hanging out with ROAR Racing. Rob is a great guy and is very gracious. It is kinda cool to be paddocked in front of his rig.

Well, thats all for now y'all. Tomorrow is gonna be cold too.

Open cockpit car in the cold--Brrrrr TA. No problem staying awake there huh Glad he was a good driver--that dang v tec kicking in makes the s2 prone to hang the tail out. They are great cars and yes i like that sound too. I wish I could get on the track with one. i wonder why we dont see more of them? I like the mini also.
Glad the pump worked--we should be hearing back from our friend soon.
rotor on and have fun guys
not thong weather huh.

Sorry guys, I didn't make it down. I got caught at the hospital till late Saturday, and I wanted to spend some time with my daughter today, as I am going to be traveling all week.

TA sounds like you are having a blast. How does the S2000 handle, compared to the RX8?

It was a good weekend. I had the pleasure of working turn 3 on Saturday, lots of close calls, lots of offs, and it was a lot of fun being at turn 3 for the race, it was wild.

I worked turn 11 on Sunday, got to see Rob go off 3 times, all safely. It was a fun turn to be in, since it had a good view of the kink, and then the back part of the track.

The s2000 TA was instructing in was a hard top, so he was spared the bone chilling wind at 110. That car sounded amazing, it was so loud, and when the VTEC would kick in, it was a really nice song. I could listen to it all day, and did for two days.

We got back really late last night, I am back to work, and completely exhausted. But, I now have my credits needed to sign up for Barber, and drive it for free.

Thanks to Rob from ROAR racing, for letting us paddock up next to his racing rig, that thing is really nice, it is always fun to hang out with Rob, and hear some of the stories. He was a gracious host.

OK, time to try and work...

What a wonderfully frigid weekend. I'll just say a few things and post a few images later in the day. First... the association with Rob Whitener and the ROAR Racing teem has got to be one of the best things that could happen to our group. He welcome's us into his area, we park all the 8's around the trailer and it really makes us feel like we are participating in a team event.

We have a great group of people and it keeps growing with the new addition of OnRails. I look forward to seeing him at future events. Lego was his instructor.

I had an absolute blast driving Lego's RX-7 during the "45MPH"(sure) Lunch Touring! Turn 14 was a blast as his car has a propensity to like to drift and it is really sweet to move the tail of his car out and correct so easily.

TA is always a blast to ride with and learn from. I hooked my "Super Duper Trailer Hitch Video Cam" up in his car so I will be posting that when I get it edited.

L8 worked hard in the corner stations and was mean to me. Wouldn't let me jump a fence, made me walk an extra 3/4 mile to get around from turn 3 to the turn 1... turd! JK... I know he was looking out for me as they will escort you out of the track if they catch ya. Got a pic of him sweeping the track after a Porsche engine exploded and laid a trail of oil 35 bags of oil dry long!

Kurt brought his Miata. Good to see him on track again. Love that little trailer Kurt.

TA2 was driving the hell out of the Mustang. Watching him take the kink and accelerate toward turn 11 was exciting. He sure likes the color black though! Congrats on entering the instructors league. You looked like you were enjoying the new opportunities.

Lego's a great roomy; anytime you need to partner up dude, count me in. Loved watching you drive your car on the track. You always had a big $#!t eating grin on your face when you would come in. Congrats on being an instructor. Oh, don't forget to put your gloves on before pit out, not on the front straight!

Jody has a new race prepped Corvette, I think he started about 5th in the race yesterday so he's doing great as usual. I didn't see the finish of the race so I don't know where he finished.

I worked my *** off day one taking photos and have over 1500 images to weed through. Julie will be posting info on them from the NASA web site. I guess I was the un-official track photographer as they gave me the run of the track... and I do mean, "RUN". I could go from flag station to flag station in-between sessions but it usually meant I had to hall *** because when the last car pitted in they released the next group and that means no one can be on a hot track. That means I had a very short time to get to my next location. Once I was going from pit-out to the #9 station and got a cramp in my right calf and thought I was going to hit the ground and stop the start of the session for a false medical emergency! That would have been one for the scrapbook.
