That looks spot on. The shop did a great job, clear unobstructed view of the road ahead and also at a good angle as well. Perfect for seeing my foam finger on the roof of my car on Sunday

Getting excited y'all!

I was working on my Power FC tonight with a little help from a friend in TX who built my street ported engine. We were fattening it up to be on the safe side and car felt great. They are going to be selling the unleaded race fuel, correct? Not that I changed any of my timing for it (left it tuned for pump gas, but wanted the extra safety it provides. With street tires, what tire pressure should I run cold before getting on the track. I've heard 35 some say 40...any consensus?

I have 'fresher' tires on my car, by the Falken standards, they are NEW. However, they aren't but they are good enough to get down there. I called the other tire service, and no luck on RA's. I guess I will have to struggle through with the Yokos for this weekend.

I am siked, getting some race gas, and going for MORE boost.

tire pressures all depend on the car, and tire size and type. My Azenis say about 32-34 hot. And it seemed to be very accurate at TGPR. Start a little high, and back some out if you need to. And I think they have a fuel station there, selling the high octane good smellin stuff.

Last night while changing to my track tires, I seriously pulled/twisted something in my abdomen/lower back/middle back... can't really tell where it's coming from. This is causing me pretty sever pain right now. I'm OK driving and sitting here at work but if I move around very much, it hurts pretty badly. I may have to make a trip to the doc this am. I'm pissed!

Leaving Macon around 1pm--beeline for Charlies.
on tire pressure--between 35-36 cold--no higher for the 040's. other tires????
Man this is going to be good. Is everyone changing tires at the hotel tonight? I Wish the heck we had a data system for the club. It would be great to see eyveryone times and track data picture--saw one in grass roots for $700 with no fancy hookups needed etc. Maybe we can wash cars to raise the money.
Not long now--see you at Charlie's
Silver --cant let a little pain stop ya! The way you describe it it has to be muscle/skelatal type-- if we have too we will place you in your car for ya and strap you in

All set! R U Ready 2 Rock? More cowbell?

BLUE OYSTER CULT Song Lyrics
R. U. Ready 2 Rock

(From the album "SPECTRES")

Come on come on thru the stations of night
Come on come on everybody's waiting
Come on come on with the signal in sight
Come on come on there's a new tune playing

Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am
Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am
Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am
But who will rock with you
Oh woman with you

Come on come on thru the cities of night
Come on come on everybody's praying
Come on come on for the wonder of light
Come on come on there's a new dance breaking

Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am
Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am
Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am
But who will rock with you
Oh woman with you

I ain't gonna catch those countdown blues
I ain't gonna catch those countdown blues
I only love to be born again
I only love to be born again
I only love to be born again

Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am
Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am
Are you ready to rock?
Yes I am

- Changed my tires again tonight because of a chunk missing from one of my best track tires.
- Car packed
- Windows cleaned
- Numbers on
- SilverEIGHT on dashboard so it will show in my video
- Chiropractor visited (Thanks Charlie)

All that's left is to go to sleep, wake up and drive out to the track! Damn, it's only 10:25 PM. I'll never get to sleep tonight!

Thanks for the hospitality at the shop!!

A quick report on the day... The weather was awesome. It was cloudy for the whole morning but the sun broke through at lunch time and temps warmed up nicely. We all had a great time but the groups were huge: 40+ cars per run group which led to some frustrating laps for the fast RX8 Club members. We had 4 RX8 in HPDE1 and 4 more in HPDE2. Everyone ran strong and successful. BlueRenesis82 and RedSheDevil were officially inducted into the GA RX8 Club.

I am exhausted so look for more write ups tomorrow night.

Your loyal track ho.

After getting past the first session, everything felt good. I had an awesome instructor with great feadback and knowledge. I guess most all of them are pretty good or they would not be there. Our very own TrackAddict has moved up to HPDE 3 and rightly so.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Blue and RSD. You guys are welcome here anytime. Especially now that your two are official GARX8Club members. Maybe sometime we can make a trip up to your neck of the woods.

Frans (spelling) Enjoyed hanging with a Mustang. I herd pretty good thing about your driving and you certainly always had a huge grin on your face so I know you were having a great time.

Super, thanks for stopping by today (Sunday) and shooting for us. From what I saw, We can expect some pretty good images. I'm sorry I didn't get to spend more time with you. There is just something about driving that makes you concentrate on what you are doing next so I may not have been paying proper attention to our conversation.

WhiteTop, Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed introducing you to the gang as the designer of my trailer hitch (Camera Mount). Their is not a better mount made for the RX8.

David and Steve, didn't really spend a lot time with you guys and sorry you didn't make it to dinner with us Saturday night.

Pam & AC8, enjoyed you visit yesterday. It's great to have support from the gang.

OD, Kurtbob, Lego, Val, L8, TrackAddict, you guys are always fun to be around. I appreciate each of you and the support you gave me and suggestions that I listened to very closely. All of you contributed my experience and betterment on the track. I got better every time I went around and it wasn't just my instructor, you guys made huge differences in the way I drove. OD and L8, I nailed turn 7 thanks to you two.

I can't wait till TA is an instructor and we have one of our own to sit with us on our HPDE events.

I videoed my last 4 runs and also my instructors final evaluation. I can't wait to go back and watch them over and over. I will be riding on a natural speed high for a long time and I must say that I feel qualified to be an official track ho!

Thanks guys! It was too much fun.

Super, it was nice being on the other end of the camera for a change.

Hope I did not leave anyone out. If I did I truly apologize. I'm just exhausted and need to drink a beer and prop my feet up for a while.

EDIT:
I left Charlie out... Thanks for the tuner session Charlie. It's always fun to hang around your place and interfere with you guys while you work on I cars. Thanks for the Mazda rope off. That came in handy this morning. But most of all, thanks for the Mazcare stickers in my rear side windows. They looked awesome on my car.

EDIT v2:
Damn, I knew I'd leave one out... Sorry Tim. Your RX7 is really nice. I really wanted to get video of you coming around me out of turn 7. Bummer that the slow car and the vette ganged up on you. I was looking forward to you disappearing at 150 MPG around me. Next time!

Thumbs up Good Times

What a great time we had this past weekend. It was good to see friends again and make some new ones. We did miss the friends that couldn't make it to the track and we did rememeber you.
Everyone did great. I was very proud of our RX8 team. We had presence in HPDE1, HPDE2, and HPDE3!
I was also particularly glad to see a long time friend of mine finally make it out to the track. I had been relaying all my track adventures of the past year to him and the addiction finally kicked in.

RSD and Blue - what a pleasure meeting you both and hope our paths cross again. Who did cut the cheese?
Valpac, Silver, L8, Blue, OD, Lego, Kurt Bob - all of you looked fantastic out there. I had a great time watching you swoop down through 12 and blast down the front straight into turn 1.
Tim - your 3rd gen is a sweet machine and wicked fast. Good meeting youa nd hope you join us again.
STF - thanks for the expert instruction this weekend. And damn that EVO was flying around the track.
32VCobra - great seeing you again and I enjoyed our brief rub together in HPDE3. I want to follow you around Roebling and learn your speed secrets.
AC and Pam - thanks for coming out on Sat to hang with us.
Super - thanks for the photos today. I look forward to seeeing what you got.

I had quite the adventure today as I tested the waters of HPDE3. When I am able to, I'll post some vids. It is pretty busy out there with a lot of very fast cars and fast drivers piloting them. It was a lot of fun though and I do look forward to the next time. I went from passing nearly everyone to being passed by nearly everyone. Humbling! Yet, I did have some brisk laps.

One more thing - someone must have accidentally picked up my jack (stock jack) from our pile o' stuff. When you unpack, you will find a spare and you'll know it is mine.

Thanks again to everyone!

Your track *****!
