So is there no more interest in the Rotary Meet next month? Come on folks, we need to make this one!

What: Rotary Car Meet. (not just rotaries, but mainly RX-7s and RX-8s)
When: February 26, 2011
Where: Location not finalized, but likely Veteran's Park in St. Johns County off Racetrack Rd.
Who: Jacksonville, Gainesville, Orlando, Panhandle all invited.
Why: We haven't done this in forever!

I'm about 1h from jacksonville.

 

from what I've seen, it's just Seph and myself from 8club. Haven't checked how many from 7club are showing up. It's not far. A couple miles south of 295 I guess.

There are going to be quite a few 7's there. I am going for sure. As for a 8 ride, I have been thinking of doing the loop again sometime soon, I haven't done it in a few months.

 

umm not sure what a loop is but i'm sure ride around town will turn heads when we drive by with a few 8's then maybe take them around some bends

 

The loop he's referring to is the on- and off-ramps at I-95, I-295, 9A, and US-1. On the south side.

 

I'm pretty sure that's the standard circuit Seph makes. You can make alterations to it though. Go south on 95 and take the Old St Augustine Rd exit. It's also a cloverleaf ramp.

 

Nice map! Thats me right there. ITs nice cause there are some nice high speed sections. the real trick to the route though is the phillips/95 exit. you go from a high speed straight to a tight *** loop. if your braking is off you WILL put the back end of the car out, and there is not much room for a dab of oppo there.

 

I dont know if there would be any serious intrest, but I work at the ponte bedra pizza hut (3rd street by JTB) I'm trying to arrange it with my boss to let us all meet up there saturday nights if anyone is interrested. Im sure if I could get a big enough turnout I could even score somekind of discount on food/drinks. Let me know if any of you guys want to give it a try.

I found a good deal on a set of Mazdaspeed shocks. Dealer wants $690 labor to install. Seems like a lot. Anyone know a good shop in town that can do the install a little cheaper? Thanks.

Wow, shock install is cake. do the shocks have springs already on them? if not might want to rent a spring compressor from autozone (i dont use one but I am crazy) but the install is VERY simple.

 

First task is to figure out WTF is wrong with kyles brakes...

 

Yeah. You know, for having so little milage, my car is really messed up. I think im just going to hit the lottery and buy an RX9 when they come out, and be the first to mod it!

As for my brake situation, Im going to double check to make sure its not my mounts, and if it isn't, the only logical conclusion I have is that my ABS is kicking in for no reason.

On my way to work this morning leaving downtown spotted a black RX-8 sitting in the emergency lane near the Phillips Hwy exit approach to I-95. Is this someone from our group?
