so that is black or grey? i want to paint mines gun metal grey. did you sand yours down and primer it? did you take the wheels off or left them on the car?

 

Leaving them on the car is a BAD idea. overspray could ruin your life (or at least your car)

 

How did your day at the track go?

 

Yea I took them out n sand it down n primer it with dupli seal primer (2x) n gun metal dupli (2x) n last with clear coat dupli (2x), lol n use a blow dryer for quick dry lol!!!!

 

Probably the worst day i had this year. long story short, i took my interior out which was huge weight load and my car felt very light. I accidentally broke a clip on one seat belt cuz i have no patience and my seatbelt would not go back in. only if i waited for my girl to get back home cuz this all could have been prevented as she has patience lol. i get to the track after a stressful day of taking things off and not listening to my girl around 1300 wearing shorts cuz its 85 degrees. they tell me i cant run in shorts and need pants FML basically a wasted day but i hope to go again sometime next month with hopefully no problems. its $25 to run as many times as you want so cannot beat that price to see what i can do. i was able to get everything fixed with no problems and will try to gut my car even more next time around as i was shocked how the car felt. thanks for asking.

I bought MT90 from the redlineoil website. Haven't been able to find any redline products locally except 2-cycle racing oil.

 

I bought mine from Mike Lowe in sarasota, and I paid as much as it is directly from redline. It seems as though you can't really find it any cheaper than the website, but any local race shop should carry it.

 

Update on suspension mods to my car...

Ricky at Stage 6 installed new Koni Sport yellows and H&R Springs this week. He did a great job and the result in handling and look is awesome. The drop is more than I expected with H&R advertising 1", but I knew the Koni's might enhance that and apparently did. Here is a before and a few after pics if you're interested. Big Chief Tires on University did the alignment after the shock/spring installation. Very happy with all the work these guys did. Next will be brakes upgrade!

 

great job aries, it suprises me how much lower the shocks made it too but looks good. how much was the instal? how much was the alignment? i'm looking to getting one myself.

i bought my brakes from them two years ago and love them. huge improvement over my stock brakes and stops like a race car. they havesaved me couple times lol. they have a lifetime warranty so any diffect and bam.. new ones. i got the slotted and dimpled rotors and here is a pick below. i paid 400 for all four but i see its on sale right now for 350 shipped, great price.



the black cotting comes off after first use but if you read into it its good for the slots and dimples. check out my album i have one more pic.

Thanks for the tip on brakes. I was looking at the group buy on R1 Concepts brakes and Stage 6 recommended DBA. But since you use Brake Performance and recommend that's what I'll go with.

The install for shocks and springs was $280 which I thought was a good price. I had estimates from $0.00 (yours and other members, thanks anyway!) to $690 from Tom Bush Mazda. Stage 6 seemed to have a good rep and did an awesome job installing. Very low at first but as I've driven for the last week seem to have settled very slightly higher, or maybe I'm just getting used to it. It's a good look and the suspension is exactly what I was looking for. Stiff and progressive. 1/2 turn from full soft on rears and one full turn from full soft on fronts for the Koni's.

Big Chief charged $49.95 for 4 wheel alignment. I gave them specs to align to and they got very close. Zero toe in and -1.00 camber for all four wheels. Came back with that except rear wheels too low to get to -1.00 so they are both at -1.70. They do not offer lifetime alignment warranty when you go outside stock with the settings. I can tell after the alignment turn in is much quicker in corners and the steering very centered and light.

Seph I'm doing some crazy **** to have a chance to be able to make it. Im very satisfied with the brake system, make sure to get the premium slotted and dimpled. i just bought pads from that site which is also cheaper then auto parts stores. how much was the brakes on the group buy? i also had a friend buy his brake system from that company and he loves them, especially since his car pushes over 300 hp but its not and rx8 lol.
