got a question as i cant seem to find this anywhere on this forum.

i want to upgrade my headlights to 10k and i've heard of people upgrading just the bulbs with our stock hid ballast. will the ballast be able to support 10k without frying? or do i need to by a whole hid kit for the headlights?

There's a lot of threads on lights already. I'd suggest searching. 10K? I know I've seen a lot of people switch to 6000k LED lights, but the 6000k part is just the color.

Service recommendation?

Looking for a good shop to take my 8 to for service and parts installs. Bought a silver 07 GT 6sp last week and want to have new plugs and coil kit installed soon as well as regular maintenance items. Who is best in Jax for this?

Thanks for any advice. I'm in downtown Jax.

I'd say do it yourself! Even if you have no experience working on cars, this forum contains excellent walk-throughs for just about anything you need to do on your car. Just my .02.

OK I'll give it a shot myself. It's been a long time since I've worked on a vehicle so a little hesitant, but you're right it should be an simple install. Reading posts on this and other web sites you tend to get the the scary impression these cars are very fragile, however, I've watched Mazda rotary's win endurance races at Daytona and elsewhere for 20 years so I know they can be reliable if maintained and driven properly.

Will save enough to maybe get a Sohn adapter. Anyone running one of those or using pre-mix in the fuel?

Thanks again for the words of encouragement.

Been thinking about pre-mixing for a while now but haven't actually done it. I know that Sephiros just started using Protek-R though.

Yup, been on pettit racing's protek r for a month now. Not going to see any power numbers from this, but the peace of mind is worth it. I have not thought about the sohn adapter, I figure the premix is good enough for now.

Still have a set of 4080 enclosures I would like to get rid of. $300 for both. They are in the same condition I got them in w/ the exception of the woofer mounting holes.

Hey Tom, what's up dude? It has been too long.

Since they're inviting Gville, Orlando etc, you should make a new thread in the regional forum Seph. We should show up in force to a Jacksonville meet for once!

And since not everyone is members on the rx7club site, maybe you could suggest they start a public facebook event, where anyone can RSVP and comment.

i'm also looking for headlight lenses as i screwed one up with my theories and trying to make things better and the other is also done. any idea of where i could get some without buying new headlights? i havents seen any non hid for sale that are cheap so i can just swap the housing.

Bought my tickets for the Mazda Corral at the Rolex 24 end of this month. Anyone else going? Probably drive down A1A on Saturday morning Jacksonville to Daytona and make a day of it. See this link for Mazda Corral tickets.

well i've tried everything and to a point of no return for these lenses.

i bought the car and the lenses had little cracks and yellowing. i decided to black them out and rode around with that for a year until i got tired of not seeing anything at night. i then took the tint off and took the lenses apart to try and fix the yellow haze and also paint the inside glossy black with blue. first mistake i did was trying to use rubbing compound on the inside.... i decided to cut my loses and close them up and do more research and. my final mistake was when i opened one back up, sanded the inside from 500 grit to 2000 (wet sand)..... this is when i realized the inside has special film and when you start messing with it.... your fucked. so basically one lens has yellow haze while the other just looks white lol
