255/40-17 Hankook RS3s are cheap and perform at the top of the class. Only downside is that in my experience, on the Packwood surface (which is asphalt) they don't work well below 55 degrees or so. Once you get some heat into them they will work, but at lower temps it helps to have a co-driver or blankets.
Rims? Easy choice is Enkie RPF1s 17x9.

Now I am confused. WOuldn't this allow the Stainless Steel lines:
14.6 BRAKES
A. Cross drilled and/or slotted brake rotors may be fitted (same size/
type/material as standard) provided all such voids are within the disc
area, and comprise no more than 10% of that area.
B. Brake lines may be substituted with alternate DOT approved flexible
brake lines.

SP and stock class lettering are not related. BSP is correct for rx8s... there is/was a proposal to move the 8 to CSP, but it's not classed there this year.

They did ok at the Atlanta Tour Mileage may vary on the torque-less wonder, though. If you're not at a 100% STX build, they are cheaper than the 255s, for reference.
