Wasn't an option anyways, $500 flight is more than I'm willing to spend.

Looks like some stiff competition in STX last weekend, Mark. Being 5,000 ft above sea level drag racing AWD boost buggies certainly puts you at a disadvantage. Congrats on 3rd place in a tough field. Fist place in STX beat CS, ES, ST, STS, and matched STR (within 0.1).

I was able to hold them off until Sunday morning, but then it seemed like my tires went off or something. Felt like I should have run those times, but the grip just went away. I am likely switching back to the Hankook R-S3 tire. The Toyo is just too short lived and quirky overall. The one bright spot is that I managed to pickup a set of uber rare and ultra lightweight 17 x 9 Buddy Club P1-QF wheels. On the way home from the event about 40 miles south of the site I had to pull over to the side of the road and wait for a tornado cross the interstate. At one point I was only several hundred yards away from it. That was a pretty intense experience. First time I have seen one in person.

Oh.. right sorry I got your car confused with the other white (Zelse?).

Anyway, they are the SSR Type C's right? If so.. I may be interested in those if you plan on switching anytime soon.

Yar, let me know about those 17's, if and when.

Oh and +55? Did they make those at some point and not anymore? Not doubting you or anything but according to their site 17x9 are only made with a +36 or +41 offset.

Yes the +55 is super rare so they usually sell for 1k a piece!

these are the earlier SSR Type C 1-pc wheels which are no longer made, you are confusing them with the current Type C-RS wheels

sets of Type C 17x9 5x114.3 are almost as impossible to find as the Buddy Club P1 Racing QF wheels

Buddy Club P1-QF 17 x 9 - 14.3# ea
SSR Type-C Comp 17 x 9 - 15.4# ea
SSR Type-C Comp 18 x 9 - 16.4# ea

If I were to sell anything right now it would be the 18" set because I'm now on an unemployed tire budget, sigh ... otherwise if you are still on the OE brake calipers you will be better off buying a set of 17x9 RPF1s, just don't hit a pothole etc with them

I'm pretty sure the BC wheels I have are closer to 13.8# ea, but I'll have to use a 15+mm spacer on them due to the S2000 offset

TireRack has 17x9 +45 Kosei K1 TS wheels (16.0#) on closeout sale for $239 each. I was looking at buying a set at one time. Unlike the Enkei RPF1, these have aftermarket brake clearance. The TireRack guys use them on their STR Miata.

Why'd you not end up buying them?

I just never got around to it yet because I was looking for something lighter if I could find them, then the set of Buddy Club wheels became available. They really are the best value for the money you will likely find.

Gotcha, I'm gonna run my Star Specs on my 18s till they're dead and then I will be looking for a nice used set of RPF1's or getting those Kosei wheels.

I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in this thread but are you guys going with wide as possible tires on 17" wheels? Or sticking with 245s?

Well I am sticking with 245s. As soon as my XS's are gone I will be getting RS-3s.
