Mine is lightweight AND it has a latch to ensure it's air tight in place.... Of course it definitely was not worth the $120 I paid for it.. :x

RWD car in the rain and it's my 2nd season... If Keith hadn't coned I'd be in 6th, but he did so I took 5th, which means I trophied... even though I couldn't pick it up that day Next event they'll have our 2010 Trophies anyway which are apparently no longer the pint glasses.
Good job, Nick.

It was nice to see Karl at the top. Next NWR event we'll be in the RX-Snake, should be interesting to see how we do in NS5.

Sounds pretty similar to mine - especially right after I installed my STX mid-pipe. Yours seems a little bit raspier though, but it could be due to our different catbacks (your Borla vs my Corksport). It will get quieter over time.

LOL @ the ricer launch w/ wheelspin and the "fly by" in the neighborhood!

^Well I was trying to include what it would sound like at an actual AutoX event with the wheelspin and driveby.

That final run from Geoff was something to behold too. He had Karl beat but coned right near the end. Both of them were getting these epic 4 wheel slides going in the high speed section towards the finish.

Yah, if the May 1st-2nd weekend is dry, Packwood should be really interesting. I'll have my sways and endlinks in by then (I hope!). A lot of the reason I was able to stay competitive in last Sunday's event is because of how tough the course was and in particular how tough it was to figure out what to do with the turn-around. I'll see if I can scan in the course map, but there was a super ambiguous cone where the ONLY thing that told you to go to the left side of it was the map and it counted as a Gate if you missed it (we worked first, and despite having watched that section and having gotten it right my first run, I got it wrong the second run).

Edit: Forgot I had the videos of this. It's at 0:39 in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZKudDJ1Qtw#t=0m39s

Edit 2: Hm, looking at the scores, they didn't record a cone... interesting, since he definitely knocked one over. Karl still beat him after PAX though, which is what matters.

Thanks man, It doesn't seem to unbearable. Mine should be a little quieter I'm running Trust Titanium and its barely noticeable over the stock exhaust.

the OE position, otherwise you have a 250 hp exhaust that serves your immediate need and I have a 400 hp exhaust for future capability.

^That may have been the better choice for another reason. I seem to have a slow oil leak somewhere around the rear of the transmission. I'll get it on a lift soon to see for sure, but I suspect that the cat, which is right next to the tail end of the tranny, is baking the seal. Hope I'm wrong, but looking under the car the front of the tranny is clean.

I learned the hard way the first time too:

You have to worry about more than the seal; the reverse and neutral switch wiring and the transmission internals too

^Thanks. I was hoping there was a way to remedy this situation that didn't require rebuilding the exhaust...

Well you can try it. I have it on the cat section running by the trans area in the OE position and it works for me.

All in all between rule changes, sound regulations, and just doing some things right/differently my STX car is quite a bit heavier than the previous STU build ever was. Almost Stock Class weight. I may have to put some thought into reworking a few things if it proves out that the shop scales were accurate. I was expecting to be at least 50 lbs lighter based on the weight difference calculations

Sigh. No sooner do I get the new seal in the tranny & the exhaust wrapped do I get a pending P0302, rear-rotor misfire. Looks lit it's time for a BHR ignition.

I've put about 2K miles on mine, and love it! Obviously it's not an upgrade for power, but it definitely improves the reliability of the ignition system.

Thats a crazy course, 2+ minutes. What was FTD and the spread of the times?

Chris Cline was on his game today and took FTD of a 147.9.

One mistake on that course and your going off at 60+ into some tree's.

We got 4 timed runs, along with fun runs, funny thing was, we got more seat time during one run than you do for most National events

We got an event next weekend at an old airstrip. But the trees start about 1 ft from the asphalt! A few people have went in the woods over the years.

Be safe up there man. On my 3rd run I got real sideways and dropped my right rear wheel off into the dirt/grass. Somehow I kept it together and dropped 2 seconds off my previous run.

Nice. Was Sienkiewicz driving today? Pretty insane that an STX car took FTD but Cline's BMW is stupid fast this season.

There were only about 28 cars out here today, It's triad's CrossTrial series, not its regular AutoX series.

Eric had to work today but will be there tomorrow for the normal points event.

The FCM Bilsteins showed up today. Got the rears in tonight (in between teleconferences with China, LOL) and will do the fronts tomorrow, along with some Racing Brake SS lines.

Good luck getting a decent baseline set-up before the Packwood events!
